    Morning all...morning Charlie

Nice to hear from both you and Leo again. I do love the Kent coast...had a place in Whitstable until 5 year ago and used to walk the stretch from Seasalter one way into Faversham and Herne Bay and Reculver the other way regularly. Marsh harriers, seafood from the fish market, the Oyster festival, Shepherd Neame beers...all remembered fondly.

Glad you found the books...there's a fourth now, 'The Knife Edge', and I've written 1500 words of a fifth. It helps to keep my remaining brain cells functioning!

Did the same job myself yesterday Leo, though 3 kilos only from our single bush. I decided after I'd finished gloves might have been a good idea! My right wrist looks as though it has been savaged by a large animal!

Morning all, grey yet warm here so far today. Rather good growing weather, but I wish the grass would slow down. Off tomorrow to see the Tour come through. It is some time since they were close enough to bother, but there is an atmosphere in the crowds that is quite unique. The riders are through in a blur of colour and whirling of tyres, so it is the occasion rather than the event that matters.

Morning all, a beautiful summers morning in rural France. Our post lady usually arrives about mid-day, but this morning she has already been due to getting her yellow van back into the sorting office before the town grinds to a complete standstill for the Tour de France to come through. Every year millions come out to watch it, something you can do and get a better view of from TV, but then it does not give you the chance to join in with the population in celebrating something that is so traditional.

Morning all from a bright & sunny West West London. Despite a few showers on Saturday I managed to tidy up the garden and sand down 1 table on 4 chairs over the week-end - now the more lengthy task of Mrs W_Y deciding on what colour to re-paint them. She did not like my quick option of Teak Oil, so I had to pick up 6 or so Cuprinaol testers at BBQ - I suspect we will be closer to Xmas and the football season well under way before I have the executive decision and go-ahead approval.

    No gooseberries oop north yet....

I am seriously challenged in the garden now due to back problems.... weeding is now very daunting... but I managed to dig over a vegetable bed yesterday morning.

The 8 hours in A and E (again) after my mum had another TIA...... she is home now... But so much waiting time..........

Physio for me first thing... followed by a very interesting meeting with my financial adviser..... "Hang on in there for a couple of years and then when interest rates rise, due to your age move in to cash investment..." Good to see I haven't lost as much as I had feared..

Now out to spray the patio with weed killer..

    Morning all

Glad it's a bit warmer today. The outside of the house is being painted and it was unseasonably chilly yesterday with all the windows open! Just seen we've signed Isaac Success. What a great name! On the lookout for striking partner Garan Teed now...

I suppose I should try to find the potting shed but we are picking at least two strawberries per day and maybe eight raspberries - prolific or what ? :)

Morning all, another splendid day here. Eric has arrived from Paris and is already hard at work for his parents, before he will slump in front of the TV this afternoon to watch the Tour. My visit to it was really great fun. Of course being French the car park had been taken over by the beer tent and food sellers. The little lady in the general stores was rushed off her feet selling ice creams as it was hot in the sun. Everywhere you looked there were smiling faces and lots of laughter. There are many events throughout the year when people join together for some fun and friendship on a national scale. I wonder where that sense of being a part of society has gone in England.

We drove to Le Dorat to see Le Tour, 1 hour away. Weird really, expedition took the whole day, including coffee, pique nique and so on for 5 seconds of limited action followed by 10 seconds about 1 minute later. But, the atmosphere, caravan, and all the paraphernalia seem to bake ur worthwhile! And the weather was perfect!
