Good morning Andy, it's certainly a lot warmer than it was at 0400 this morning! After a thousand times rejecting an upgrade to windows 10, I was given no choice this morning, I pressed the reject X at top right and it installed anyway. I couldnt stop it and I was too scared to remove the battery in case it left me with nothing! Seems ok so far!
I've been to see Barbera Streisand and Ennio Morriconne over the last couple of years.. so's you know ;-)
Evening all, back from my holidays and feeling refreshed, and lighter in the wallet. Rather wet here, something I haven't seen for the past two weeks.
Good morning from a cloudy but dry Jersey. In case you hadn't guessed, I was Jsybarry. It's a change of username I'd planned about a month ago but I thought it would be better to wait to make things easier in the prediction leagues and after the softball tournament would be an appropriate time. We were 0-4 on Saturday, meaning that we were in the plate competition on Sunday for the worst 5 teams. It was a complete turnaround on Sunday and we were 4-0 in the pool stages, meaning we were in the plate final. Unfortunately, we were all so tired in the final we lost. The other team that travelled with us got to the final of the cup competition, but they also lost so we returned with 2 runners-up trophies.
Morning all from a windy and chilly West West London - big difference to the wonderful sunny and hot week-end in Bournemouth. I see the real Don's won the play-off final and Millwall lost with the usual result - families from Barnsley were attacked.
Morning all from a wet Rural France. Managed to clock up 2,500 kms on the trip to Corsica despite the fuel shortages. No problems on the island to buy it, although some unions were discussing the possibility of disrupting supplies. I think they don't want to mess with the tourist industry that creates so much of their wealth. Currently one of the ferry companies is trying to survive despite owing the government vast sums of money, which is illegal. Quite how that will turn out remains to be seen, but the workers coop which has been suggested is looking for even more funding from Paris and the courts have said that is not allowed. Meanwhile the privately owned company running to the island is picking up all the bookings as people do not want to take the chance of losing their money should the other one fold completely.
Morning all...very grey and rain threatening here. Last time I went to Corsica we were delayed by French air traffic control industrial action and arrived to pick up a hire car at midnight with 2/3 hours drive ahead of us and a couple of hand-written directions on a screwed up bit of paper. We did have a brilliant week once we'd found the place we were staying in!
Morning all from a cold, damp & windy Bandit Country. Will it ever get warm? Nervous 3 weeks ahead, dropped Little Miss W_Y off at the station, she is off on her own to Costa Rica for 3 weeks summer holidays, before football starts again for her!
Just off to Germany for 3 weeks for a camping holiday, be back for the Euro's, enjoy the offseason everyone and hope this weather keeps up.
Dave I went from XP to 10 and find it ok. Most annoying thing is that tiled screen that pops up. not very impressed with the Edge browser tho.
Morning all Serious packing begins today as we prepare for our first ever cruise, heading for Svalbard via Bergen and Tromso. Never been up to the Arctic Circle before and hoping we get to see polar bears, whales, puffins etc as well as some spectacular scenery. A few interesting excursions booked on the way but being on a ship with 400 others for a couple of weeks could be challenging! At least we have a cabin with our own balcony...
Will be interested to hear your thoughts on cruising Theo. Mrs W_Y has been suggesting (nagging) that we try a cruise for a couple of years now and I have managed to swerve/ignore/change the subject - but my wriggle room is getting smaller each year, so will be interested to hear how you got on.
