The MK population was 255,000 in 2013 and classed as a 'high growth area' grown by over 20% since 2001 compared to 8.9% UK average. Stevenage population in 2013 was 89,000. MK. MK has many excellent entertainment venues, it is not unreasonable to expect it to be able to support a FL team, especially with a stadium most lower league clubs could only dream about. I say good luck to MK Dons, my energy goes in supporting the hornets not gloating in others misfortune. May I add Luton FC were harshly and unfairly targeted for points deduction in the past, it was their supporters that suffered.
There I was taking Junior to the gym on Wednesday evening and I stopped at our new traffic lights. A car pulled up behing and the driver was waving me to go (I couldn't see the filter light as I had stopped a little to far forward). Anyhow the passenger was wearing a Watford shirt! I know there are a few supporters in Banbury and Bicester, and a few more in Birmingham, but I thought I was alone in my neck of the woods.
So the deserving bit is because of their large catchment area and having some excellent entertainment venues...luckily I have plenty of energy for gloating when they fall through the leagues and we will see their attendance drop to the previous numbers and the "locals" will go back to wearing Chelsea shirts. But fully agree on how the dirty ones were treated by the FA & FL. The additional 10 points was completely wrong and has not been repeated on other clubs for similar transgressions and the 20 points for going into admin again was harsh.
MK Dons were in the top 6 for average attendances in League One years 2013/2014 and 2014/2015. I wouldn't worry to much about their demise, it won't happen. I believe they have too much going for them. I do not know anything about the current MK Dons owner(s), but hope they are better than our own red hard hat specialist!!
19 years ago today - possibly Alec Chamberlain's finest hour? I remember listening to this over the internet in the early hours in Queensland - even my non-football loving wife danced around the room when Holland's spot kick was saved by AC.
Yes it was so sad i use to cry my self to sleep LOL i look forward to the day they play berkco in the league LOL
Some of the most memorable and sweetest victories came against our inbred cousins up the road, unlikely to happen again in the league. Even Hemel Hempstead beat Luton into second place for the title of ugliest town in the UK.
Morning all from a wet St Helier. I don't think I've seen Steven Finn fielding at mid-off until yesterday. Whoever came up with that plan needs to be congratulated, as those were 2 very good catches he took, especially for someone who is 6' 7" diving forward to take low catches.
Evening all from a wonderful island in the Med. Weather great, food great, drink even better. Lots of lovely people, wonderful scenery, and a sea that is almost warm enough for the big dip. Think I will use the heated pool for now. Everyone seems happy except the Germans who seem to have forgotten how to smile. They do not even smile with each other. Maybe Cologne can tell me why. Very flaky WiFi here while the system is upgraded. How many times have I been told about an upgrade that doesn't work?
