Andy, we're all happy to be a distraction, if there is anything we can do to help, you only have to ask. Stay strong and unload on us anytime you feel the need!
Morning all from what was a very wet and windy St Helier last night. The problem I have just by my flat is a warehouse for an office supplies company and there are often wooden pallets outside. I look outside my window this morning and one is still there, but I think the one that was on top of it yesterday is now in the nearby harbour. To get there, it would have to be blown across the road, so I hope that there weren't any vehicles going past at the time.
Very windy day here, but nowhere near as bad as parts of the UK. EDF have struggled with people losing electricity, mainly where trees have been blown onto overhead power lines. It would make more sense if they spent money on putting lines underground rather than rushing around the country shutting down the wind turbines because there is too much wind.
Morning, Dave, morning all. Just had to congratulate one of our little black cats, who has just seen off a big black tomcat at the back door. I think my crawling in, suddenly appearing next to her and hissing at him, might have had something to do with it perhaps but all the praise went to her. Poor thing has groomed a patch of fur off her belly in fear recently. We had a talk in which I explained what a dirty beast he wanted to be. I am Desmond Morris.
Andy! How did i miss your return!? Bad mod! ...lovely to see you back, sorry about all the troubles but very glad to see you and hope things settle for you soon, it sounds horrendous.
Thank you, Hornette. I'm now starting to think that tomcat ran away laughing as I had crawled on across the kitchen floor on hands and knees to surprise him then thrust my boat race against the window. Unfortunately, at that time of the morning I'm less Karloff, more Oddbod Junior. Yep, the cat was laughing.
Buenos dias (or however the locals say it) from Alicante airport. On my way back to reality after a very relaxing week in the sun. Reality beckons.
Wet and grey here today... we had a dire wet walk yesterday when the the TV weatherman was proven wrong up here in Yorkshire
Glad to say that the wind has dropped and it is dry for the time being. Making a quick trip over to the UK next week, so hope that the weather improves by then.
