I see that Mr. Iturbe, the one who didn't smell right, still is only getting a few minutes off the bench for Bournemouth.
Afternoon all, taken a long time to get the site up and running today. The first message suggested database problems, but it looked like early Egyptian script to me.
Good morning all from the Emirates Stadium in North London. On a romantic St Valentine's Day out at the football with Mrs HF at her beloved Arsenal. To put some context I've got a great seat for £4.00 cheaper than my palace ticket yesterday. Ridiculous. Chocolates and flowers? Pah! Football and pub!
Hello from a cold but dry St. Helier. Was supposed to be playing softball later, but our opponents couldn't get a full team out, so we've won by default.
Afternoon all from a bright sunny, but chilly Bandit Country. Having a lazy day on the sofa watching the sport. Good result and persistence from Arsenal and a much better second half by England at the rugby. But oh dear Villa, you are really very poor - I just hope they do not slide further next season. Brilliant day yesterday, nice couple of pints and good food in Borough Market before the match and great support at not the best of grounds. Luckily our seats were near the front so our view was better than those at the back had. Got lucky with the trains of the way back and was back in the pub in Bandit Country by 7 and then onto a 30th birthday party. All in all, a very satisfying day.
morning all! What a fab weekend! A Watford win and a spendiferous super sunday. I really hope Spurs win the league, best team we've come up against by far, and they deserve it. Looking forward to watching a slightly less stressful match on Saturday. Would be lovely to win, but not the end of the world if we lose. Hope we win though lol. With 36 points i feel much more comfortable about the league, if we don't get 4 more points this season we don't deserve to stay up! Have a great week one and all!
Morning all from a chilly but brightening West West London - another cold morning with a thick frost. I could do with some sun and warm weather.
Bright and sunny day here, but cold. Yesterday needed some things from Limoges and it snowed down there for a time. Been out this morning to get some bread and what normally is a 10 minute trip turned into 20 as I trundled along behind a huge lorry and trailer piled high with straw. The chance of overtaking was nil as he straddled the white line down the centre of the road, so by the time I turned off into our lane there was quite a procession following. Still it did give me a chance to see that the cowslips are coming into flower on the sides of the ditches, another sign that Spring is not far away.
It is strange how the fans of some clubs seem to have trouble follow them around. The comments on the Leeds board today have been pretty vitriolic about the owner for and against, and the protests, but it is not confined to England. There was trouble at a recent game involving fans from Bastia, and as a result the prefecture have told the French Football League that the next game against Nantes must be brought forward on Saturday from the normal kick off time of 20.00 to 14.00 hrs. The Bastia club have refused to comply. Having seen their ground last year when in Corsica, it would create serious problems as they are in the midst of a large shopping complex, and use the car parks after the shops have closed. What will happen remains to be seen, but the message boards have shown up that the club and it's fans are not welcomed by some to the mainland. It has certainly raised the nationalistic fervor of some living there, and has raised the hackles of some who don't see why they should play in the French national league. I hope it has all quietened down by May when I will going there on holiday.
