I would have thought that a senior sports reporter might have managed to include the right word in his report.

"Watford came close to adding a third with ten minutes remaining. Jakubiak got to the byline and teed up the Golden Boys’ trialist but he failed to make a connotation with the ball. Jakubiak then had a sight of goal moments later but blazed well over."

Morning all, a beautiful day with temperatures back up into the 20°C's forecast. Better restock the cave before tomorrow as I believe we will have a difficult afternoon.

Maybe the wrong collocation there, or pure poetry? "Connotation - an idea or feeling that a word invokes in addition to its literal or primary meaning."

Morning all from a warm and sunny rural France. Today is a public holiday, quite a shame that it falls on a Sunday as it is a day off work lost. La Toussaint is a time when families get together and place pots of chrysanthèmes on the graves of their predecessors. Our small hamlet is full of cars from around the country as the children of our inhabitants come back to their family home. Visit any cemetery at this time and you will see a riot of colour. Even people who have no living relations will have someone who remembers them go along and place some flowers on the grave.

This reminds me of a great faux pas by my wife and myself when we lived in France. We were going to some French friends for dinner and took along a nice Chrysanthemum plant from the many on sale at this time of year, it looked very nice.

We did think at the time that our friend's reaction on their doorstep was a bit strange, a kind of puzzled look. We only realised our mistake about a year later!!

Not sure Theo how I ever had time to go to work. This latest job was not wanted, but a water leak developed behind the toilet and ruined the existing laminate. I seem to be on the go a great deal, but believe it is good for me. The back problems I had while desk bound have thankfully disappeared. Until my daughter has finished her house I suspect that I will continue as unpaid labour.
