You are writing posts in the night and canaries do not appear then, but bats do at dawn and dusk.

It has not yet been published. It is possible that it may come nearer to me, but there is a lot of work that has to be done with things like road closures.

Sæl öll from the Graham Taylor Breakfast Nook. Tea and coffee, donuts and fruit are on the bar.

Half and half coffee for Brian
    Black coffee for Bragi
    Flat white coffee for Yorkie
    Frothy for W_Y
    Café Allongé for OFH

Today is the same as yesterday. We have rain and 2C. We have snow predicted for saturday but Möðrudalsöræfi is cold and with clouds. We have no weather for monday forecast!

Morning all, damp and grey here and not a lot of improvement expected until tomorrow. A gentle potter for me then, no outside jobs, they can wait until I get the sun on my back.

Très drôle. It would be good to have an easy game, but somehow doubt it.

Morning all, weather still grey, but the sun is expected this afternoon and it should warm things up a bit.

Bad news from the SW of France where a coach carrying OAPs about to start their holidays was in collision with a lorry. Both the coach and lorry went up in flames, and more than 40 people have died, with others injured. Currently the schools are closed for their two week break, and it is not unusual for coaches carrying children to be involved in minor accidents, but today's accident is far worse than normal.

It was on our national news too...with added comments suggesting the size and frequency of larger vehicles has outgrown what the roads were constructed for. It sounds as though the lorry was out of control and the coach driver could do nothing to avoid a collision. Very sad for friends and relatives of those setting out on a pleasure trip.

I would certainly agree that some of our roads were never designed to carry 40 tonne lorries. When I go to town the road is slipping sideways and so cracking up due to the weight of the lorries that are using what was a quite narrow lane when I first moved over here. It has become very clear over the past couple of years that funding has been reduced on their upkeep, and the patching gang is not the answer.. Another of my moans, yes grumpy old man, is the size of the tractors. They have become so wide that every time they go along the lanes around here they take half the verges with them and deposit mud all over the road. Strange how the farmers are all suffering from low prices for their produce, but can still invest in very expensive tractors.
