Yes they are a public service pretending to be neutral - the Scottish referendum is a case in point, where the Yes campaign are largely ignored - but in this case, it wouldn't surprise me if what they depicted merely reflects society as it is today. Just as, up here, they would be hard pressed to find a classroom anywhere without a percentage of Eastern European children.

Morning all, bright and sunny here but a light frost overnight.

My English grand daughters who go to school here are top in French, but maybe that is because they have had to learn to read, write and speak the language correctly rather than use the incorrect words spoken by natives and picked up by their children.

Uniforms are not worn here, but there is a strict code that does not allow any form of religious symbol to be displayed, including head covering. As the law prohibits the wearing of veils in public places most people just accept that to be the case and dress accordingly, but every now and again you read of an arrest in one of the large cities when someone chooses to ignore the ruling.

Interesting to see reports today coming out in the UK that immigration is having little effect on jobs for the English population. Not something I would have thought that will appeal to UKIP and other like-minded parties.

    No success yesterday.

The EU is ready to talk to us about membership, of course they are they want our fish. The EU have made a statement that says the decision is for Ísland but I think they are like Russia, they want to take all land available.

Human remains found in a cave have to be sent outside Ísland to see how old they are. Some men found a cave which is not on maps and inside were human and other bones and a fireplace.

Thank you for the caramel latte Ak, let's hope the bones are very old, we don't want a decent country with nice respectful residents to be harbouring a murderer!

The oldest the bones could be is about 1500 years. History says the víkingar arrived in 874 but monks were thought to have arrived in 500AD and the víkingar have left buildings from about 650.

It would be spectacular if they were even older, charting a new history for Iceland!

Another set of fits yesterday morning resulting me staying overnight at Jersey General. Back home and relaxing - been signed off so I don't have to go back to work tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that Barry - I am guessing there is no medication that prevents bouts of fitting for you

Harry, I'm on anti-epileptic medication but there is always something that prevents it working. On this occasion I think I caught the virus that is going round work at the moment as I was shaking when I was taking my tablets Tuesday night. Although I was feeling better when I woke up yesterday, I still decided to take the day off work as a precaution and took my AEDs but didn't get as far as phoning work.

Rotten luck Barry - hope your fits are as few and far between as possible and not too severe - it is a strange disease - my wife, daughter and step niece all "grew out of it" but nobody has ever explained how or why
