Those were the days my friends, we thought they'd never end...... please log in to view this image Benskins and the Watford Silver Band in 1991. Can you still buy Croxley Script Envelopes? I was there stood next to one of the funniest men I have ever come across. He was a Hammer, all decked out in the gear, who started the wisecracks before the game started and continued non-stop to the end. It was yet another bad season for us, but not quite as bad as it was for Hull and WBA. West Ham were promoted.
Morning all, a bright and dry morning with a temperature that is just right. 24°C max forecast which is very comfortable. Looks as if my day is filled collecting timber for my daughter and her building works. She is getting materials in, then leaving me to use them while she goes over to the UK for a week. Looks as if gardening will be on hold.
Croxley Script is still a brand name used by Sappi UK. So I would guess that their envelopes are still in circulation somewhere. Shame that the old mill is no longer there - that was my first job on leaving school.
Morning all. Some light cloud overhead and the chance of a light shower this afternoon. A fairly laid back day ahead with some restocking of the cave. Looking forward to Jon Marks this evening as he chats about goings on at the club as well as reporting on the game. I see in the WO that the 1881 group have some big plans ahead. Another foil display in September, but this time to take in the whole ground. Wow. They really have done a great deal to liven up the atmosphere at the Vic, something I haven't seen since the days of John Barnes and SLB. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/13520716.The_1881_will_be_bigger_and_better_this_season/
Don't know if it will work, but tonight's game is advertized here. http://cricfree.sx/watch/live/watford-fc-vs-fc-sevilla-live-streaming
We now know that it was the liquidator who sold off the Red Lion, so the club must have done a deal with him and Baz can add that to his list of business failures. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/ne...ce_as_new_owners_consider_what_to_do_with_it/ It would be a shame if it disappeared, but I have never seen it as being a success where it is situated. The days when there are matches will not support it as it is not large enough to deal with a large influx of customers once a fortnight, and it is competing with the bars in the ground.
Everyone in our area does two.... but our friend in the village says 4 is the norm and insists on doing so. Interesting that they range from air kissing to full on ones dependant on who is kissing who...
Good morning all from a cool and dry Weston-super-Mare! Have a good day! OFH, I think, if I were faces by a Frenchma, with garlicky breath, if he moved in for a kiss, I would shake his hand and tell him to kiss off!

Kitchens have been at full production levels to provide far too much for us to eat in one sitting, so I expect that after the midday meal there will be a second one about six pm. Last time this happened we finished up eating and drinking until midnight. Every household provides something for the feast, and one of the barns has had a bit of a spring clean where it will take place. There are going to be 29 people, which is more than our entire population, but news has spread and people are bringing in their relatives. Just hoping that the language skills hold up for such a long period, but a few glasses of wine usually lubricate the brain cells.
