Yes enjoy your time out here. According to the Meteo we might have some storms at the weekend, but then back to the very hot and dry stuff. My water butts are getting very depleted and really could do with 24 hours of steady rain. Hoping that today I will finish the building works for my daughter. She returns at the weekend and will no doubt want new parts of the renovation started.
Good one.... I have to paint a room... so will try and fit that to the storms! Been offered the chance to buy Everton ticket through a north -west supporters group... fingers crossed very tightly
Have a good trip, don't forget to be kind to old English farts towing caravans down the french motorways!!
Most of the caravans heading south this week on the A20 were Dutch. The Germans going in that direction a couple of weeks ago have much larger caravans that the Dutch, who have some so small it is difficult to work out how they can lie down in them.
Although we have met many really nice dutch people camping in France & Spain they do have a reputation of taking all their food and drink with them and therefore spending very little locally.
Hello from a humid PoSH. Drizzle this morning, warm at lunch, hot earlier this evening and now the humidity. When I went into a shop on the way home from work, I heard the end of an advert on local radio which said that whatever being advertised (probably bar/restaurant/hotel) is "right in the heart of St. Ouen's Bay". As far as I'm concerned, the heart of a bay is the sea, so unless it's a restaurant on a boat or an advert for some sort of watersport centre, I would suggest that the wording of the advert is changed, if I knew who to make the suggestion to.
Brian, as my youngest has Asperger's, it has made me more aware of the differences between actual and literal meanings of phrases.
Morning all, 31°C outside at present and not even the slightest breeze. 37°C expected this afternoon which is hot and I will have some work to do under a roof without insulation as yet. Hoped to finish yesterday, but with this sort of temperature you do tend to slow down. Depending on which forecast you look at we might have some storms this weekend, but then temperatures expected to rise again. In the nine years of living here I don't remember such a long spell of such hot weather.
My internet signal keeps disappearing, then flashes for about a minute, then stays on for a while, then drops out again!
