Good morning all, bright and sunny and someone has already been out cutting their grass judging by the smell. Off out to my monthly dinner with my football friends today for the first time since the season ended. Guess Mr Norwich will be happy enough and Mr Boro will take the attitude that there is next season to try again. Mr Forest gave up long ago. I will try and be very modest.
Morning all. It seems strange getting up at the same time as most of you. It is also rather strange to get up and find very little activity on here whilst I have been asleep. It has been good to be here for the longest day. I'd forgotten how long the daylight lasts. Nothing compared to AK or even Aberdeen, though.
Morning all from a cloudless rural France. Needed the aircon on yesterday as I came back from my monthly dinner and today it is forecast to be warmer still. It is always good to be able to sit outside as dusk falls and feel the cool of the evening while watching the bats flying up and down the lane hoovering up the insects. Today I will be spending the day working on the old farmhouse that my daughter has bought. At least I will be out of the sun as I will be starting to rebuild the upstairs flooring on the huge oak floorbeams and trying to get something level. It is no wonder my weight remains steady despite the intake of food and fluids.

KA won again but the poor results of weeks ago are still causing problems for outr advancement in the league. We stay at fifth position as all the teams above won, except Þór who we caught a little. This week KA beat BÍ/Bolungarvík 2:0 with goals from Hilmar Trausti Arnarsson and Ævar Ingi Jóhannesson. The last weekend was a bad time as the national football team won and we celebrated wildly. We have low sky and 5C. Veðurstofa says 9C and sun, but I think they are wrong.
Tomorrow marks the 1085th anniversary of the world's oldest Parliament - Iceland's Althingi ( that's the Anglicised version I believe). Cheers AK!
Dan, it's not the world's oldest continuous parliament as it was abolished in 1800 and re-formed in 1845. There is a claim by the IoM that the Tynwald is, they celebrated 1000 years in 1979 but their beginnings were more judicial than legislative, so does that count as a parliament? http://www.tynwald.org.im/about/Pages/default.aspx
morning all. Busy time here so popping in and out, but here as much as i can be and keeping my beady eye on you all . Just to let you know, i have now messaged Mick to get us moved to our rightful place on this board as i didn't realise that it wouldn't happen unless i did so! So, watch this space Have a great day
Morning all, a bit cooler today which is no great hardship. My last French lesson this morning until next September so I had better show my face. The meteo is forecasting that after today temperatures will rise daily, with around 34°C by the weekend and no sign of rain. The wet Spring filled my water butts and it seems I will need it all. It is good to be able to grow and eat your own fresh food, and worth the effort if you have the time.
