Morning all from a bright cloudless morning in my little bit of the world. :emoticon-0100-smile

I came across this which appeared on Facebook. I don't think we have many people on here complaining that the Pozzo 'project' has ruined our special family club although I know that some do. This to me shows that all is well.

"I just thought I would share a special story here.
Recently, our eldest son Joel went through open heart surgery, which has thankfully been successful. I contacted Richard Walker at Watford to ask whether one of the players could come and visit Joel.
Joel particularly wanted Jonathan Bond to come and Richard Walker arranged it. We assumed that Jonathan would pop in for five minutes, sign a few things, and leave. He didn't. He stayed for the whole afternoon, played FIFA with our kids and left them his goalie gloves. Since then, he has basically been in touch with us every week to follow Joel's progress and has twice come over to see the children after matches. In fact, after the Fulham game, he came and grabbed Joel and took him into the dressing room to see the players as they came in. He had briefed them all about Joel, so they could all talk to him about his operation.
We never expected that. Jonathan went above and beyond the call of duty and we are under no illusions about the extent to which his actions have not only aided Joel's recovery, but have also given our other children a lift.
In an age where footballers get such a huge amount of bad press, I thought I would share that. Jonathan Bond really is a special person and a credit to Watford, and he thoroughly deserves the success which will hopefully come his way."

What a wonderful story, if you lot aren't proud of your club after that there is no hope for you!

I will just say, I know you all well enough now to know just how proud you are of your club. Stories like this really warm the cockles of your heart! <ok>

Nothing as big as that in my case, but I was in WGH with a severe asthma attack when I was 12. I missed the home game against Chelsea that was the first game with Solvite as sponsors (I had to be warned by the nurses more than once as I was at risk of pulling my drip out in my excitement when listening to the match on hospital radio!). All the kids in the Family Enclosure were given a goody bag of Solvite marketing merchandise such as badges. The following morning, Ann Swanson, who was in charge of the Junior Hornets at the time, visited me in hospital, bringing "my" goody bag with her - I believe that she lived in Enfield then.

Fast forward 20 years, and my sons are mascots. My Dad had died just over a year before and my Mum and Uncle had got a brick with his name on under the GT stand but neither the boys or I had seen it. My Mum must have mentioned it as we were told to get there earlier than the other mascots families and we were shown the brick

That is a great story and to be fair it was jonathan that did more than most would and not the pozzos or the club .He shows what a nice guy he is and being a goalie is far from easy in a club like ours he must go out on loan to get playing time and if he has to leave to further his career good luck to him

Rather late in the day as I have been out and about which included a decent dinner made better by the vast quantity of wine thrown in for good measure. :emoticon-0142-happy

I hope that w_y is having a good day as I believe it to be his Birthday. Many happy returns w_y. <bubbly><bubbly><magic><magic>

Morning all from a warm but cloudy and damp bit of France. We had an overnight storm with some heavy rain and lots of flashing and banging. Mme tells me that I slept through most of it. Still the internet seems to be working. Often that is the first thing to get knocked out by the summer storms.

Alas my journey to the Royal Albert Hall last night was wasted. Here's hoping Tony Bennett makes a full and speedy recovery.
