I have long harboured doubts about the SNP. I'm an old fashioned Liberal / LibDem (NOT to be confused with those treacherous b@st*reds that caught the pox by jumping into bed with the tories) socially left-centre left / fiscally centre-centre left / foreign policy centre-right. Like all "independence" parties they get along until independence is achieved, or not as we've seen.
Long story short: I want to see a U.K. where the SNP is irrelevant. Alas I see a U.K. where the SNP is not only relevant, but necessary. What a f¥[<ing sh¡t show we live in. I cannot blame the Scottish electorate, indeed I sympathise with them.

Morning all. Bright and warm outside, so plenty to do. I am still working out what a 12.30 kick off does to my day. Yesterday I visited the La Poste website again to find out what I needed to do to send a small package to my daughter. The site always creaks and groans, but yesterday it went into full collapse state several times as I tried to do a customs declaration. Two hours later I had the two copies required printed off, in a plastic bag attached to the small box and took it to the Post Office. Another 20 minutes filling out another form that could be stuck on, most of which was already on my printed off copies. The value of the contents was under €10 and the cost of postage €16, which included the £10 administration fee that the Royal Mail collects on behalf of the government. What a farce it has become. Have a good day, and let us hope for another win. <ok>

    Good Afternoon everyone.
Raiding the ale cupboard for this afternoons match. A Cheshire Porter; Three Hundreds Ale from the Terrick brewery down the road; Death or Glory from the Tring brewery, also from down the road. Found a Goose Island Bourbon Stout as well, checking in at 15.2%. Special occasion that one, wedding anniversary next month will do nicely!
Weather keeping me in otherwise. I have a pile of unopened blue-rays and CD's to go through this later this afternoon.
2nd jab booked for next Friday btw.

    Enjoy your day folks!

How will we know if the rains have come, the bandits have been driven out of your area, or another goat is sacrificed for your BBQ?

Morning all. Bright and very breezy today, with storms and hail forecast for this afternoon. It is Mme's birthday and a shame that a present sent to her from the UK in April still hasn't arrived. A video call is set up with England later and a visit from the granddaughters and daughter is happening sometime. Keeping in touch with people has been a great help throughout the last year even if we haven't been able to spend the time with them that we would have liked. I wonder if I will get to the Vic next season? Back to making travel arrangements that fit in with a game I hope. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

Morning all. Broken cloud, very breezy and rain showers forecast for later. Lots of banging from next door to start the day. My neighbour has his house up for sale and is still moving furniture out. I helped him with some of it, but was pleased to see he had someone else with him as it is now the large heavy items remaining. If you are in the right place sales are brisk, one of the local notaires always has a stack of cars outside, but a remote village has some drawbacks. He tells me that I am on commission if I find a buyer from England, but really it is too large for a holiday home, and there are hoops to jump through now if you wished to live here full time. One house here that is in a very poor state has never been lived in in the 20 years I have known it, but still has the hand painted sign with a telephone number to say that it is for sale. The trouble is we are not on a through road to anywhere, so the sign is never seen. Oh well, some jobs to do before the rains come again. Have a good day whatever you are doing. <ok>
