Morning all. Dry and no rain expected. Broken cloud so the sun pops in and out. When I came down to make a cuppa first thing a red squirrel was sat on the bird feeder happily munching on some dry bread that had been put out for the birds. He stayed there long enough for me to grab a phone and get some pictures, but then spotted me and leapt onto the house roof and away. This squirrel looked very well fed already so didn't really need to steal the food for the birds, but maybe it is a reflection of some politicians. Have a good day whatever you will do. <ok>

Morning all. Cloudy and turned much cooler again as the wind is now coming down from the north east. Started to prepare a new strawberry bed yesterday. The old one had become overgrown with weeds and was producing very little fruit. This time I intend to put the plants through a matting that will stop the weeds and keep the fruit off the soil. Only thing then is to use one of my wire cages to stop the birds feeding off them. I am not sure if the effort will be worthwhile considering that there is a PYO farm not that far away. Have a good day whatever you will be doing. <ok>

Morning all. Much rejoicing in our household after the Boiler Man finally fixed our boiler yesterday - the cold showers and lack central heating for the last two months are thankfully now a thing of the past. I had asked him to replace three radiators as well as flush out the whole system, and am glad I did - all three floors of the house are now warmer than they've ever been. Watching the black sludge drain out of the system was an eye-opener - I may have to have the system flushed more often ...

I'm assuming no news is good news this time - the earthquakes were around North Island & NZ lives on South Island.

Morning all. Bright and sunny, but a very cold wind which makes it feel colder than it really is. Feeling rather pleased that the leak in my cars cooling system seems to be fixed. Spent €15 on a small bottle of some mixture, which if it didn't work they gave you your money back. Put it into the expansion bottle, and for a week now no fluid loss. I think the leak was in the radiator, but could never be certain, so I am hoping this has saved me €200 for a new one, plus as much again to fit it. So three more points and I will enjoy my day. Have a good one wherever you are. <ok>

Morning all. Overcast, but dry. Although it is cooler than of late the buds on the pear tree in the garden are swelling and beginning to open. There will soon be more blossom to set off the sneezing again. A couple of years ago there was a massive amount of blossom in the hedgerows, but they have been cut back severely this Spring, and are only just starting to show green in patches. Not impressed with the mess they have made of them and I suspect that the birds that were looking for nesting sites are non too happy either. Have a good day whatever you will do. <ok>

Morning all. A clear blue sky, but still warming up. Everything is very quiet in the village today as the builders working in the barn to build the luxury stables have not arrived. The elderly lady who had a fall last week seems to be ok as she potters about using her elbow crutch rather than her Zimmer frame. Yesterday one of her relatives spent the day and night with her and has just come back from getting some shopping in. I must go and check if the soil has warmed up enough under the cloches to see if the first row of peas can be sown. Have a good day everyone. <ok>

For that length it could be something like fraud. You never know, you might get to meet all sorts of government ministers if called as witnesses. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Morning all. Clear blue sky, but only 2°C outside. We certainly had some frost again overnight as I had to clear it from Mme's car before she went out. There is no breeze at all as the wind turbines on the hill are all stationary. It should be fine for a spot of gardening this afternoon when the sun has warmed things up a bit, but compared to some I am a fair weather gardener. Still we are eating vegetables that have overwintered, so what I do do is worth the effort. Have a good day and stay safe. <ok>

Morning all. Bright and sunny if still a bit on the cold side. Rain forecast for tomorrow, so must put in a longer shift on the veggie plot today. Since we have had the clear blue skies for several days now I have noticed that there are no vapour trails overhead. Being situated where we are in the country there is usually a crisscross of them as aircraft fly around Europe and further afield. It will be interesting to see what effect such a shutdown will have on air quality when this is all over. Have a good day whatever you have planned. <ok>

    Hello all.

Things heating up, no not the Narcos this time, spring has sprung the it's the hottest time of the year before the awaited rains cool things off.

Easter on the way, COVID still lurking around. Might go to the coast and fishing at easter La Niña weather system isn't as heavy as expected and won't change into El Niño apparently. Still, might wait until summer to go, better chances then and in the Xmas break.

    Take care y'all.

Morning all. Milder again, but wet and windy. Need to go into town today to get a photograph of myself. Our permission to remain in France has been granted, so just have to supply a current mugshot and have the fingerprints taken next Tuesday. It will give us the chance to roam around the EU at will, no visas or anything, but we have lost the right to live or work other than France without masses of paperwork and expense. Our friend who lives in Northern Ireland spends about eight months at his French home each year. He thinks that he may apply for an Irish passport to get around the 90 day rules. Son-in law is currently stuck in Switzerland, although he now works for a Belgian company, and has French residency and a UK passport. As a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry he has worked in a number of EU countries, but life has become much more difficult for him. Not seen any gains so far. Have a good day everyone. <ok>
