I'm not sure but I reckon we'll be first or last or somewhere in between! Just a funny feeling I've got!
Massive three points today make no mistake, with Swansea away then Manure at home we really needed that. Remember, we rarely have back-to-back defeats under Lambert, so today's result was never in doubt, was it ? Would be nice to repeat this: Love Rooney's sulk 2 mins in
uncharacteristically bad finishing from us. Shows how dominant we were. I think it reflects that the players felt under quite a bit of pressure after Wednesday's performance. It really is the first time there has been massive pressure all season to get a result and it's great to see that they didn't crumble.
Running order just announced on twitter Arsenal/Blackburn, QPR/Wolves, Man City/Fulham, West Brom/Swansea, Norwich/Bolton, Stoke/Sunderland, Wigan/Everton Can't say I'm suprised really
If we're looking at it without yellow/green tinted glasses on, I think that's fair: Arsenal smashed Blackburn and their bizarre season continues Wolves won away from home in a match with controversial incidents Man City are league leaders and beat Fulham comprehensively Swansea won away, probably against expectations and there was more controversy Ours was an uncontroversial home win, which doesn't make a huge difference to the title chase.
I'd say your saying the same thing! So many shots considering our finishing should have resulted in a thumping!
The BBC bosses probably looked at it like this: Arsenal/Blackburn - 8 goals Man City/Fulham, QPR/Wolves, West Brom/Swansea - 3 goals a piece Norwich/Blackburn - 2 goals Stoke/Sunderland - 1 goal Wigan/Everton - 2 goals but a crap game
True, no "controversial" incidents, and no title contenders. But it did have a bearing on the relegation battle. However, as I have argued before, those are pretty pathetic criteria for judging the intrinsic interest of a football match. We lost both centrebacks before half-time, had to play the rest of the game with two right backs in the middle and bring on a right winger to play right back against a very skilful and strong Bulgarian international, and you go along with the idea that it was just "an uncontroversial home win"! I'd say that ours was actually the perfomance of the day and deserved a detailed analysis from the so-called experts.
