Martin has been at CB due to injuries, he's a right back (or full back for you oldies) by trade though. He's surprised us on a number of occasions, but Bale is going to be a totally different prospect. I have faith that PL will have thought of something to try and contain him though.
I remember seeing Bale in his Saints days. I was fairly unimpressed and sat there thinking 'what's all the fuss about?'. I am no loss to the world of talent scouting!!

Always had a bit of a soft spot for Spurs but what a bunch of ****s the fans on this site are. Anyway I think 1-3 to Spurs tonight, enjoy the game.
So who's going to replace Martin at centre-back, assuming that he covers the absence of Naughton? How have you all rated his performances, by the way?

I would guess we'll go Whitbread, Barnett at CB. Naughton's been great since he's been here, not flawless, but very impressive.
Martin has been good on the whole (minor a mistake when trying to take on the Arsenal midfield on the half way line when horribly exposed) - he has been incredible at times, saving us on many occasions with goal line clearances aplenty. Not bad for a bloke who really has stepped up so many levels
