Was hoping my wife would go for the E-Pace last time round. Didn't get anywhere though. My influence is waning :(

Nice car innit, what did your Mrs opt for?

I had a look at the F-Pace for myself but I think I'm gonna go with the X5 and spend the next 3 years regretting not getting a Discovery.

She's got an E-class Coupe but that's only because they really ****ed up her last sale. They came back and offered the E-Class for the same cost as the C-Class she was thinking about.

My view was tell them to take a ****ing hike but it was her choice.

Just to add, I thought you were talking about the F-Pace. That was what I hoped she'd get. My mistake.

I don't like any of the newer shape Merc's. I like the GLS and that's about it. I had a whirl in a G wagon a few weeks back it was an absolute dog.

I spend way too much time over-analysing cars and end up talking myself out of every purchase.

I love the f pace. And wanted an XF for my next motor. Issue is it’s too big for my drive.

Not heard of the e pace. Just googled it.

It is the same body as the Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5, the Hyundai one whatever that’s called. They’re all the same car.

I actually really like the cx5 they just don’t put quick enough engines in them. Same with all compact suv’s.

Not really a fan of Mercedes cars full stop. If you're going to go German then the VW/Audi/BMW platform are far better built cars.

Same with the VW/Skoda/Seat's they're all the same chassis on the Compacts.

I think some of Jeep's cars are made by FIAT now too.

Mr Mrs doesn't like a fast car, I'm not the same, I have to have some poke from the engine. My X6 was the 40d and it was hungrier than a motherfucker.

Yeah I like my BMW's. I'd rather have a bus pass than own a ****ing Audi mind.

I like the X5 again wont fit on my drive. They aren’t silly money for one about 4 years old.

Am going to end up with another 3 series think I will go estate though this time. Still will have to have the 3 litre straight 6 engine though.

I had an old 320d touring a few years ago that had 200,000 on the clock. I had it remapped to 228bhp and it was like **** off a shovel. Never owned such a fast car, and especially for a family estate car. It was red hot.

I had a few 3 series, had a 330i coupe that was fun to drive.

My X6 grew on me, didn't like it much at first.

X5/Disco next for me I hope.

I had an A6 allroad and that car was ****ing lovely. Basically a luxury estate which somebody had decided to turn into a 4x4. All of my cars end up full of sand and dog hair, so there's no point me buying a mint cruiser.

I don't mind other people owning the normal ones... actually you know what I jumped the gun a bit, if I had money to burn I think I'd go out and buy an Audi RS7. Those things are stunning.

Absolute beast of a car if you've got a spare £90k kicking around.

Not been on much the last few weeks, decided to quit my job of 10 years and also one of my best mates temporarily returned from Australia so been getting ****ed near enough every day of the week. Currently debating if maybe doing some work mixed with travel abroad myself could be appealing.

Now on way to Devon to enjoy some grub at the family restaurant. Not bad this unemployed life, can see why it's quite popular <laugh>, although my savings will only look after me for another few months.

Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Years by the way <ok>
