Reinstalling it all now. I'll give it one more go. If it happens again it's going back to the shop.

My Mrs car goes back in March so getting her next one on order. I said she should get the Landrover Discovery Sport or the Jag E-Pace... she's just showed me the one she likes... VW T-Roc... never even heard of it.

Much damage? Taxi drivers are usually reluctant to claim for anything mate as it puts their premiums up that are already quite hefty.

They are marketed as a compact SUV. Not sure I get the point of that tbh. I've got a Touareg which is a beast of a car. It's big enough for all the stuff I carry around for my business, as well as being a family car, room for the dog in the boot and bars for surfboards etc. Also really nice spec and lots of toys etc whilst being a proper 4x4 with dif lock and low ratio. Not the easiest car to negotiate narrow town centre driving, but where I live 90% of my driving is B roads and country lanes, with a bit of muddy fields and off road tracks.

Only like £12 but the thing is I rang to order it and said I wanted to pay by card. As soon as I got in the taxi I told the driver I wanted to pay by card... get home and the ****ing card machine isn't working properly to which he says "We'll have to go to a cashpoint" to which I took exception and said why the **** should I pay an extra bluey or so just cos of your incompetence.

He starts getting a bit annoyed so i said we'll try it one more time, took the receipt when it said declined (there's definitely money in there) and said "Sorry mush, we'll have to sort it tomorrow, you've got my number" and got out... live in flats so was easy just to get in block and then run upstairs*.

When I get my car back tomorrow I'll just drive to the office and pay them up I think if they let me do that, don't really wanna get nicked for it and it's not like it used to be they case people now... ****ing pain in the arse though the stupid ****. <doh>

*So I was alright cos he couldn't see what flat I went to... the chicks house I left though got a few knocks at the door today apparently <laugh>

    Oops :bandit:

She likes to have a bit of room, more than say a BMW 1 series but she doesn't like huge cars. I had the X6 for a while and she hated driving it, so we try to get something in the middle.

I'm not sure about it tbh.

It was the VW Atlas that I was getting confused with that's available for the US market, but that is a proper big boy SUV. Those T-Roc's look quite nice, but like I said I don't really get the idea of a compact SUV. You either want a big car or you don't. If your missus likes an elevated driving position without the car being too big, what about a Skoda Yeti ? Not as fashionable as a VW or BMW, but they are great 'little' cars with bags of room and don't come with a belt busting price tag. My Mum has got a 2.0 diesel one, it does something like 65+ to the gallon.

She'd probably drive anything to be fair to her but I wouldn't have a Skoda Yeti, I have to drive it too... which is why I want her to have the E-pace.

Well that's a much nicer motor. Double the price, but a very nice looking thing.
