You can pick up some really good stuff there tbf, I.e genuine brands ... but you need to check the labels - they have numbers 1 to 5 as I recall - these represent a number of things (and I can't remember them all) but one number represented whether the 'designer' garment was actually in store with that brand e.g. Ted Baker or whether it was part of a range produced just for TKMaxx by that same designer (so a lesser product in all aspects)...
I went to the TKMaxx at Hempstead Valley Gillingham/Rainham, some years back mind, was only in the area because I met up with someone for lunch - anyway after, I went for a stroll, and I'd never been in one of their stores before, so I thought oh let's pop in here, I found it very disorganised like a jumble sale. My brain was like, I can't be dealing with this **** and walked out lol. I thought from memory I had heard their range included designer stuff, didn't know about the numbering system though. I think Ted Baker went bust recently, so expect TK is probably selling it now.
I mentioned TB because I worked for them for a while and therefore knew the practices from both sides - but yes they are no more - they were bought by a US organisation (ABG - Authentic Brands Group) who just really wanted the brand name so then tried spinning the rest of the business off before pulling the plug ... so you will still see Ted Baker branded products in shops e.g toiletries in Boots... for which the manufacturer will pay a royalty to ABG for the use of the TB name ... it's how ABG make their money - the also own the rights to many other brand names - Elvis, Muhammed Ali, Marilyn Monroe and some bloke called David Beckham...
I love TKMaxx and hate it. No doubt though that you can sometimes pick up great clothes at a very low price. I bought a jacket there once and it just looked and felt great so I looked the brand up found my jacket online at a few places with an average price of £280 I paid £60. At times though it's just junk and you'll find nothing good.
It looked rows and rows of junk and I didn't see the attraction myself - having to look through endless clothes, only to then buy something I didn't really want....so I didn't.
The one in Swansea at the Liberty used to be good. Had decent golf gear, decent Quiksilver stuff as well. And I got Timberland boots and sandals there (good ones, not chav ****e). It dried up though, not been for ages. I randomly found a load of Sergio Tacchini and Ellesse gear in one in Swindon years back. Don't even know what I was doing there. Got lost on the roundabouts probably. Still got a couple of the tennis shirts from there.
Off out to see Alison Moyet tonight. She should be good, a bit middle aged though I think, but I still remember her as big Alf from Yazoo! She's got a great voice, might nod off if I've had a couple. Asian food before, proper canteen type stuff but incredibly good. Am in shape for Korean and Thai, had a Chinese last weekend, quarter duck and all that. The beers there are ****e though.
Hills Burger van from Brecon outside the local tomorrow should be banging. https://www.hillsbrecon.co.uk/
Mind blown at the moment need to chill. Don't watch Adolescence unless you're in a place to chill afterwards.
Absolutely love Alison Moyet and didn't realise she was still getting around. Fantastic voice i could listen to all night.
She was good, she does indeed have a proper singing voice. Did a couple of Yazoo tunes too. She looked great, she's lost a load of weight. Less happy with the £24 double G&T's mind.
