I’ve worked it out that it will cost around £3k by the time I’m finished. It won’t have any windows as it’s going between 2 walls, but will be insulated, full electrics etc., decent security door and built on a concrete base. That small pile of wood that’s shown in the photo was getting on for £700.
If this is a success then I will build a garden room. I reckon that will be closer to £12k by the time I’ve added windows and bi-folds etc. and clad in cedar. However I’ve been looking at garden rooms and you don’t get much change for £20k+ if you get a company in.

Morning. Getting the train up, or possibly down, to some town called Noto today. Hoping to see a mafia murder and maybe a classic Serie A player from the 90s.

That sounds nice. I'd love to have the space (and money) to build something that opens out into a garden like that.

I live in an old granite terraced cottage, so there's no chance of building anything lol. It's in a conservation area too, so the local planners even made me take off the clips on my slate roof and nail them down to the battens !

East Sicily. Had the wedding bollocks over the weekend and Monday so got a few days to **** about now. Missus is excited for some old Granita shop and I’m going to do that scene from the Sopranos where Paulie gets ignored by the locals while having an espresso.
