Out on the kayak this morning. Flat calm day. This is just under the cliffs at Lands End. Very rare that you can paddle out here because the currents are usually treacherous
exactly dude the whole idea of the nhs is that everyone was entitled to a quality health service….no class divide….what we’ve seen instead the privatisation of certain areas with ever increasing costs and the lack of funding on the shop floor. basically them with money can see the standard fall and jumped ship leaving a lack of giving a fk for them that have no choice.,…bevan will be spinning in his grave at how labour have facilitated the demolition of the once great service moral of this story fk off the private so them with money gotta use same service as us….they will soon start upping the investment if it’s meant thy families are at risk
The NHS is being used as a political scoring points. Yet nobody is actually willing to tackle it head on when in government. People like Westy is happy to shout to save its future whilst going in through the back door for a private service and then there's people like me who has to wait months just for a consultation because I haven't the luxury of being able to afford anything never mind bloody private health. Makes me sick, tbh.
it shouldn’t be happening….my misses after four years of tests and blind alleys eventually did her own research and found a guy in London for a consultation….got funding from the nhs to see him at fk knows what costs to the tax man…..what a waste of money knowing this guy could be in our hospitals giving grade a treatment if paid properly
Also don’t forget that the pot of cash that the dept for health use to run the NHS is increasingly being farmed off by private contractors under AQP (any qualified provider) Leaving a smaller pot for the NHS to run an ever more demanding service. This has been the Tories plan all along. Underfund and Run the NHS into the ground, then declare it is no longer fit for purpose, thereby bringing in the private sector to ‘rescue’ it. It won’t be long before we have an insurance based system in the UK, where you will have a mandatory opt in if you work (taken from your wages) and if you’re self employed you’ll have to shop around. The yanks will be all over this when the NHS is sold off because they’ve been doing it for years. Big $$$$$ to be made from the UK health industry. And because of Brexit the uk has thrown away all of its safeguards and regulations. So the NHS will be seen as a gold rush for private enterprise
like I said previously way too many lobbyists working inside our so called democracy that includes labour basically we got the power to change this culture and it isn’t through the ballot box whilst the pigs are still placed with snouts in trough
Would more people using private health care if they can afford it free up waiting times for those who can't though? Free health care for all is a great idea but there are too many people and not enough funding, so would a system where you are diagnosed by a GP or in A&E and then use your health care if you have it be an option? To me that would still depend on the money and changes to infrastructure that the government are willing to implement. In the meantime I think people who can afford private should utilise it so that there is a faster service for those who can't.
Maybe football clubs can do a moral thing for once and say we don’t need your sponsor money give it to peoples health and well being instead…..now that would be positive advertising for a change especially when most of them are the reason some are in hospital from using its products in the first place. this country isn’t over populated by the way the money is here it’s just not shared in a logical way
seen this a bit late didn’t I…..thinking of going out this weekend myself for a couple but got some new cast iron pans I wanna try out on my ooni oven……steak and shrimp and chicken kebabs on menu can only eat the chicken out of the three myself
Yep, Labour too. Starmer too is nothing but another cog in the corporate machine. The Tories might have started this dismantling of the NHS, but the Labour party are just as culpable now days. Like you say, all in the pockets of the lobbyists who buy their own warped version of profit before health. And as you'll already know fella, Pharma want as many people on as many drugs for as long as possible so that they can sell their **** endlessly and maximise their income. These ****s belong nowhere near our health services or our supposed democratic institutions.
The simpilest way to ensure that those who can afford more contribute a greater share to health provision, is to implement the tax system properly and then ring fence that money into the NHS. We don't actually need a two tier system of state and private, because more and more resources (money, services and staff) are being syphoned off into the private sector at the cost of the NHS, which is both underfunded and understaffed. That coupled with the fact that the very rich evade their tax contributions to the tune of £120bn per year, which if utilised and properly ring fenced for the NHS, would mean that the state provision would be more than adequate to meet everybody's needs.
The other way of doing this if the Govt are hell bent on private health provision and insurance based system. Is to model our health care on some European countries, where private health companies provide the service and receive their income through insurance premiums, but the state pay for the provision through taxes. Or, the Govt tax you less the proportion spent on health, and you buy the premium yourself. With the proviso that those below the tax threshold have their premium paid for by the state. The problem is, that the UK is now run by corporate parasites, so will probably seek out a US style rather than EU style. Where not only do you pay your taxes (as we don't have a system that ringfences taxation) but you will also have to pay for an insurance premium out of your own pocket.
Spot on dude….here’s labour saying use more private to bring down waiting times which is only moving the problem and hiding the reality https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-65638171 nothing ever happens nothing happens at all the needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before the illusion of democracy has gotta be the biggest hoodwink in British culture
