The rape scenes were a necessary depiction of prison life...not some unnecessary fantasy being lived out inbetween a supposed brilliant story line.

When you talk Oz you dont talk the rape scenes unless you are Bope trying to prove a point
GOT is famed for sex..must be a weak story if it needs the sex over load to sell it

Hey that's Hollywood, accept it, youve been duped like millions of others...hence my initial post calling it mass hysteria

I think the whores and sex scenes were necessary to be honest mate, they add depth to the whole 'seediness' of the culture. The class divides and the female subservience comes across really well, it completely sets out to offend in order to draw stark (no pun intended) contrast between the 'then' and the 'now'. It doesn't claim to be PG in any way, there's skulls being crushed and guts hanging out, it'd just be weird if they made the sex scenes PG.

    It isn't though.

It's famed for the crazy complex storylines following the lives of about 40 characters.

The shagging is all that people who have never seen it go on about.

There's been about 8 sex scenes in 6 seasons.

There's folk who are in to it a bit too much like, I've seen a few people saying what their favourite episode is by episode title. I didn't even realise the episodes had titles until about 3 weeks ago, I just thought they were called 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

For such a "player", never thought Iggy would be one to be scared of a few pairs of tits on TV <laugh>

Especially when he talked about Oz earlier, which has plenty of other types of "sex" scenes, including male rape, bondage, cross dressing etc, probably more so than GoT.

Still, like you said AKCJ, it's literally only people who have never watched it that harp on about that crap.

I've not watched many box sets front to back, but GOT would be up there near the top.

Breaking Bad was probably my favourite, then GOT.

Anybody watch Stranger Things on Flix? I expected that to be geeky dogshit but quite liked it in the end, new series due out soon I think.

Keep meaning to watch stranger things but something keeps stopping me. Seems a bit 80's.

    Have you seen 'The Wire'?

i enjoy british drama too, they make them well and i enjoyed 'Line Of Duty' it's not full of tits so it might be deemed to have a weak story line by some nuggets on here

Yeah that was my reservation, seemed like it was designed for little school boys but everybody was hyping it, so we gave it a try and it was great, they develop the characters really well and the story line is some freaky ****.

GoT is good - sometimes very good. Like the fact they're not afraid to kill off almost any character.

Personally thought Breaking Bad was over-rated. It was good but nowhere near as good as people were making it out to be

Lost was a pile of crap, never got into it

One of my favourite American shows was Newsroom. Also really liked the US Office. Gets much better as it goes along... but probably had 1 or 2 series too many!

Not seen The Wire mate, but I'll give it a try. Things are gonna get busy for me in Sept so will need my spare time at night a bit more, but I'll keep it in mind, it sounds like something I'd really like.

The Wire is a masterpiece in story telling, the only show which rivals, and possibly beats GoT in quality of writing and story. Such a great woven story.

Seriously though spurlock, all ****ing around aside, GoT is amazing.
Yes there is some gratuitous sex mostly in season one, but thereafter its amazing.
Sometimes when im watching i forget its a tv show because of the production quality.
