Worked my nuts off in the garden cutting hedges with the heaviest cutter in the ****ing World, but she rewarded me with 3 pints of Peroni and a packet of peanuts down the pub when I'd done, so all is good lol.
My first time. I made sure I looked into it a bit and this place got great reviews as a traditional place away from the tourist area. We went to Temple Bar for one but then wandered out from there.
Awesome place! Not leaving the house until almost 12 to head to the pub because the atmosphere won't be right yet! The west coast of Ireland is the place to be to truly chill with friends and family over a pint of guinness.
Where abouts in West Ireland mate. I know Lahinch really well and most of the coast up through Clare, Galway and Sligo
Try further north mate, closer to the border. Sligo is fantastic. Some great walks along the beaches that reach to the horizon. Great golf courses @Chief Rosses Point, Strandhill. The beaches are awesome. Walks up Benbulben to stretch the lungs. And pubs where the locals turn up with fiddles, guitars and keyboards for no reason and no fee other than to just sing. I'm not getting a penny from Irish tourism by the way, I just love the place!
Have a beer in Hargadons on the high street, or Austies on the coast road. Don't get there too early though
Off to Portrush in six weeks as it goes. Playing Portstewart twice, Castlerock and finishing off with Royal Portrush. Pretty sure the Guinness will be just as good across the border, right?
Just got home after a second stint at the Athletics. Another great evening, very different to last night when the atmosphere was supercharged about Bolt. Today was more of a festival so ideal for the kids. They bumped into and got pics with a few athletes including a gold medal winner so were chuffed. It's a cracking night out.
