The motivation levels at some workplaces must be rock bottom.

Folk have spent the last 18 months on the sofa watching Netflix and doing a 30 min zoom call and now they are expected to do a full day's shift. It's gonna break some people

 

Is there anything more British holiday than the first full day being a complete washout and everyone being confined to base and getting on each others tits playing cards?

Fortunately just got a very lucky cancellation for dinner in a local hostelry later. Will yomp the coastal path before that to work up an appetite.
