It's all going to kick off in work, they did a pay freeze to get everyone on the same pay, I found out yesterday from a mate that they are doing commission based sales with some people and whereas I can top up my wage by about £4000 a year he can get a max of £36000
**** being in sales, would do my head in. I’d probably be sacked inside an hour of my first day. Customers have a right to say no, Tel, without being called walrus faced miserable ****s and that you’ve found them on Facebook and you think their wife looks like Chunk from The Goonies.
I s’pose technically I’m in sales too in the Food n drink game. But I actually enjoy what I do making and then going out and selling my products. The idea of doing a ‘sales’ job though would ****ing bore me to tears. Having to try and flog stuff that I’ve got no interest or passion in. I’d just be like ‘yeah you don’t actually need this ****. Save your money’
Customer service was hell. I aint ever worked in the sales side, but working in restaurants made me despise people. Some people are horrible entitled ****s and deserve nothing but the worst upon them.
I have praise for people that work in restaurants, they are on their feet all day, for little pay and how they don't give some customers a slap is beyond me.
I suppose my background as military police helps, I've had horrible ****s right up in my grid so someone being a twat down the phone doesn't really bother me, I'm usually posting on here while they are having their bitch fit. I just say yes or okay roughly every 10 seconds while they go on.
I worked in structural integrity insurance before I moved abroad, I was an account handler but sometimes would get complaints put through to me by mistake. Never found it that bad over the phone. Especially when you actually agree, the insurance is complete ****. But its something about seeing someones smug, horrible face when you KNOW theyre wrong and theyre acting like entitled scum. My Job now is perfect. Its my job to kick these types of people out and I have the power not them.
Mate, its the worst profession going. Even the chefs, the ones who are actually trained, have such a **** pay and environment. No idea why anyone sticks with it long term. Id rather deliver packages, legal or otherwise, than go back.
Was up in Cumbria last month, lady at one pub we stayed in told us a few pubs/restaurants hadn't reopened, as the chefs wont go back, as they are earning more money delivering for Amazon than they are being a fully qualified chef, big staff shortage in the hospitality trade all round and it's easy to see why
Same in Norway. People just happy to take a gov cheque than go back to work. Theyre all advertising and getting no luck. Was called by my old boss a week back, little bit extra money an hour and a better contract to come back. "Its not close to what I get now tbh, and if it was... it still wouldnt be worth it Im sorry."
One of my niece's is the same, after having the time off because of the closures, she said, you know what, I really can do without the **** the job brings and for what, minimum wage. Changed profession and not regretting it one bit. Evenings and weekends to herself too.
