Had a sparrowhawk in my garden once, every bird around disappears when they turn up. Lovely looking bird of prey, but just rip other small birds to pieces and leave a right bloody mess. Must have been a female because it appeared quite big to me and by the mess it left, it must have taken out a dove/pigeon.
