I used to use the oven and tumble dryer as heating when I was 17 and drank all the time. My electric was wired up but had to pay for gas so saved myself a few quid.

Open the freezer door and sleep in a sleeping bag next to it. Your body heat will eventually defrost the freezer.

Optional to speed things up. Eat a hot curry before getting into the sleeping bag.

I used to go to college with a bloke who worked for British Gas, so he knew how to wire the meter. He had the gas fire on ALL THE ****ING TIME.

Used to go round there for a smoke and it would be 90 degrees indoors, ****ing sweating your nuts off. You'd ask him to turn it off and he'd be like 'Nah mate it's all free, so might as well leave it on'

    Daft ****

Basically the way you wired it up was get a thick wire, from say a kettle or toaster, and cut it so you you've got exposed wire at each end. You then take plastic coating off metre and insert the wire into two of the gaps and it just never cuts out.

One day it went and one of the ends of the wire had fallen out. So I went to put it back in and saw a big flash, was dazed and lost sight for about two minutes, and also had loads of black **** on my face.

I never tried again and just paid for it after that funnily enough.

I have no words. Between 0.1 - 0.2amps can kill you and you’re bypassing the meter which is likely to be anywhere from 63 - 100amps <doh>
I won’t get into the technical details of “arc flash” which is what you experienced, but the explosive energy released will melt your clothes to your body.
