Mate you’ve been dying to have a bite from the first little dig this morning, just returning the compliment, “But down with any form of management training or something” You do this from time to time with me. You seem to hate anyone having an alternative view, especially when you think your some kind of authority on said subject.
Yep on the mainstream channels. It seems like each of them feel if they don't put in as much coverage as the other it would be blasphemous! I can't remember if it was like this when the Queen Mum died but I remember I was in the gym at the time the news broke and they switched all the screens onto the news and 20 mins was all I bear. I expect all the main channels will quickly rush to put together hours of tribute programmes which will be on all weekend.
When Diana died, I had to be up early (4-5.00am) to get to the airport for a business trip. For the whole 40 minutes plus it took me to drive to Gatwick, they just played the national anthem over and over again on the radio. I’m not even sure they mentioned why they were doing it. I think I only found our when I got to the terminal building.
I'm almost certain that Man Utd or someone was playing when she died, I was a kid and I remember the commentary being turned off and they said over the game "We have interrupted this broadcast to inform you the queen mother has died." I dunno if that actually happened, but its a vivid memory.
I really haven’t though, you should read this back. You’ve literally just accused me of missing a ‘joke’ whilst now quoting what was obvs jokey sarcasm. I backed out of the discussion at lunchtime, and then others joined in. You subsequently replied to one post with something like ‘I’ll let Tobes chalk this up as a win’ which I thought was odd, as it was nothing but an exchange of opinion, which didn’t differ much anyway tbh. You’ve then chosen to reply to a post I made to someone else with your ‘joke’. The passive aggression is all yours fella. If you’re seeing conflict, that’s not my problem. My opinion is just that, my opinion, people can agree or disagree makes no odds to me.
Of course mate, that’s why you started with the “But down with any form of management training or something” sarcasm.
That wasn’t my first reply though. Read it back mate, I’m leaving this here though, as I proper can’t be arsed with imaginary conflict.
Whether it was the first, second or whatever post, you made it as a derogatory comment mate, that’s factual. There’s no conflict as far as I’m concerned. I thoroughly enjoyed the discussion and opposing views. My views are based on working in the environment I do, others will have there own experiences.
I was with my ex who had been invited to a do, in a leafy suburb in a place called Iver. She was a lawyer working for a government dept and it was her boss's place. Went back to hers at about 2am, somewhere in london, spent the night, next morning found out Di was a goner. Driving back my route was out through the A40 and there were lines of people. Line up all the way for about a mile to the RAF base where her coffin was coming. That was surreal.
Lol most of the news I've seen goes like this. Prince Phillip is dead Under 50s. = he was good in the crown. Over 50s = a great loss
All I’ve had is joke memes and people saying meh and I’m over 50. It’ll be the over 70’s who’ll be giving it the great loss stuff I reckon, not my generation for sure.
He was good in the Crown tho Thought that show would be ****, but its actually really a good watch. Can't wait for the next season
Day 4 ffs, 4 days of earlies...So doing my usual valadation and signing off, blah blah blah.. And offered to be a trainer within my first week. So must be doing something right. Not really my thing, i like to do my own ****, but gave a 'yeah ok' seeing as it's my first week there. ffs.
