@PINKIE I'm looking to book a trip to Cornwall for June/July. Any recommendations for decent places to aim for with little man?
Nah it was supposed to be first week of May last year so was a no go. Hoping to do it at some point this so will come to you for some advice nearer the time. That one will be without nipper though!
Ok, let me know and I'll give you some info. We went to Cornwall two summers ago and, to be honest, I was a little underwhelmed. I think St Ives on a sunny summers day surrounded by fat Brits was what did it for me, where we actually stayed just a bit up the coast was lovely. Great campsite right by a superb stretch of beach with surf schools etc., which I'd recommend if that's what you were planning to do?
I went the same year and loved it, we were in quite a secluded spot but with Newquay only 20-30 mins away so easy to get stuff if needed. Probably aim for something similar this time but somewhere else. Where did you stay?
He stayed in a great campsite right by a superb stretch of beach with surf schools etc. Pay attention Libby ffs.
Depends what you’re after bru ? If you want lots of activities for the little man then somewhere around Newquay would be good as there’s an aquarium, a zoo and a few parks with mini steam trains and rides for the kids. There’s also loads of great beaches up there too. Didn’t you stay at Holywell bay before ? Would recommend Perranporth up that way as it’s very family friendly and there a big caravan/chalet park with a swimming pool and activities etc. Right on top of the huge beach at Perranporth. If you want something a bit more relaxed, away from the bucket and spade holiday, with some nice cafes, restaurants, wooded walks, valleys and secluded coves, then the south coast around Falmouth down to Coverack on the Lizard is good. If you want wild unspoilt coastal walks, moorland treks and real old cornwall, then come down my way out west. Anything west of Penzance. You’ve got secluded valleys on the south coast and rugged cliffs on the north coast, all within a few miles of each other. The beaches down this way are magical. Golden sand and turquoise sea. It’s more laid back than Newquay, but maybe not as much to do for the kids unless they like walking and just hanging out on the beach. Hit me up if you come down bru and we’ll hook up for a beer
Place called Gwithian, right across the bay from St Ives. There's a bus to St Ives if eating pie and chips while being hassled by Gulls is your thing! The site is Gwithian Farm. Good access to plenty areas that are bloody lovely, assuming you'll be in a car? There's a station at Towan as well which takes you to Penzance should you fancy that.
Yeah alright Pisk I didn't ask for a novel ffs Yeah just looked it up and Holywell is where I went before, visited Perranporth a couple of times which was quite nice I thought. Isn't West of Penzance basically the sea? Not sure exactly what I want but ideally a bit of a mixture. Probably stick to a park of some description as there's stuff to do in the evening for nipper as it'll be just me n him, but would like to be reasonably close to somewhere with more to do like boat trips etc. Was just looking somewhere near Lizard funnily enough.
