****ing electrics went to **** late last night. One of the ring mains is goosed, so the main living room and the back half of the house, nada. Got extension cables all over the shop to get t’internet and TV. Sparky coming later, I’m fearing the worst, as if it’s a floors up job, I’m gonna proper fume, as we’ve literally redone most of them in the last year. The joys of owning an old gaff

Just to make it worse, 7am a truck rocks up (unannounced) come to take our old sofas away, but the new ones aren’t coming until Monday. They had to take them to bits with head torches cos the leccy was ****ed lol. Took the ****s an hour ffs.

Living room now look a like a ****ing squat. No sofas and extension cables all over. FML.

 

I sometimes miss the good old days of getting the candles out when the power went off. Not sure if the grid went or we were just that poor. It was fun though.

though as it turned out it was probably one of the most useful things she ever gave me

 

Sparky has sorted the job right out, no idea what the **** he did, even though he attempted to explain it in detailed sparky speak, but I’m extremely grateful & it didn’t involve trashing my floors. He can defo have readies.

 

Same with thunderstorms when you were a kid.

Turning the lights out, watching the lightning through the window and counting the seconds until the thunder.

He was ****ing around doing whatever he was doing for about an hour mate. The bloke is sound, used him for years as we refurbed the house, bit by bit. 50 notes, job done.
