Doing well so far but every hour is vital now. Amazing what they can do these days. I’ll be honest when I got the phone call I assumed the worst. Been reading about it this afternoon and the rate of survival is a lot higher than I expected. Roughly around 40% at the minute but gets higher every day. Luckily they’ve let my brother be there (special circumstances I suppose) but not a chance that any of us can go and see him. Thanks guys. I’ll keep you updated

Wow, thunder and lightning here atm...some real window rattling ****. Also bucketing down like the end of the world.
Sounds like Willie Thorne is in a bad way. Always came across as the kind of bloke you’d enjoy having a pint with, hope he pulls through.
One of our expats had a similar experience here. Wife developed an infection and they had to deliver the baby at 21 weeks. At the time was the most premature birth to survive in Indonesia. We ran up some serious hospital bills (nearly US$50K) and there were a few later issues associated with early birth but she is now a strapping teenager. Hope it works out well for your nephew too.
He was a sound fella ... we used to bunk off school some afternoons and go down to Osborne's snooker hall in the city centre - he was often there before he had his own hall - always smiled and said hello
Sky have predictably chased me today to see if they could get me to change my decision to cancel. I’ve ended up negotiating a deal to stay with them for £28 a month for 18 months, that’s for the full package inc Sports but minus movies, which are largely **** anyway and I’ve now got Netflix. So if anyone is seeking to reduce their Sky bill there’s the level they’ll drop to.
Who’s watching the first game back then? I’ve just stuck it on, and had a bet to try and keep my interest.
