See that’s where you’re going wrong. You should. With mates. Few beers in a beer garden. Take the edge off then pizza and bed. It’s like pulling teeth for the first two pints.
Hopefully now you've got your new gaff, with some green space, it will help. It's hard when yer on a downer, naturally people could say to me think of your grandchild, sadly it don't work like that, wished it did. I was thinking of your lad, saying that. Like you have realised, alcohol is a big no, no, most mental health help services won't even engage if your under the influence of drink or drugs. I keep very limited alcohol in my house now. Talking about it is a big helper, can't stress that enough. It's about being honest with yourself and other people is what I learned, although it's not always easy if yer blockers (barriers) go up. I tend to find I talk more about it to friends and professionals, than I do family. I think it's a man pride thing.
Nah drinking two days in a row is a slippery slope for me and I won't do it under any circumstances. Normally end up back on the gear and then you're back to square one but 10 times worse. Using beer to take the edge off feeling hanging is precisely how I got into my recent bad state two summers ago.
You know yourself better than me. From personal experience I don’t want to have a heavy day the day after though 4-5 beers the next day takes the edge off then food and sleep is better than demonising yourself on your own. You have to force yourself to do something to take ones mind off it. Unless your mates are wreck heads in which case then a good bottle of wine and pizza helps.
They’ve got away with offering utterly ****e customer service for years, as well as blatantly ripping off their loyalest customers, but I think in the current environment their chickens are coming home to roost. They were losing circa 100k subscribers per quarter before the virus hit. It’ll be interesting to see what it’s done to their customer numbers. I reckon millions will end up either downsizing their content or wanging it.
I normally pick my lad up and order a takeaway while watching **** films with him in bed. That's my tonic for getting over it these days.
Out of lockdown I don’t drink on Mondays and Tuesdays. Ish. I only get drunk on Fridays or Saturdays when working. I’ve not been properly drunk for about about 4 weeks now. Just a couple then food. The latest I’ve stayed awake during lockdown is 11:30.
It's a valuable lesson , and one that is slowly but surely , killing me . Avoid Alcohol peeps if you are of a weak mind , or have an addictive personality ( I'm the latter ).
I've banned myself from having a glass week days, it was going down too easily. Don't drink Monday-Thursday. Often fall at Thursday though so it's usually three days booze free. Have made Friday a run night as well, otherwise (when it was hot and sunny) I'd be cracking a beer as soon as I was home from work and I end up having a good few then wine with tea. Easy to slip into a bad habit, not gonna lie on that. Once I've had a glass of wine I definitely can't leave it at just the one, will always have at least one more.
DIY today, chasing a few cable runs and ripping out a carpet. All while still occupying the ****ing room, it's becoming a right mess. Got to wait then till end of the month for it to be plastered as apparently plaster is in short supply. Putting together a shed tomorrow. Will be designated to gardening tools and equipment. Yes, I am that boring a ****.
Throughout the whole of lockdown I’ve managed 3 days of no booze. Though as I said I’ve calmed it right down now. Should be back at work next month.
Last two Friday's I've stayed up and watched The Last Dance. MJ is starting there in his chair with a bourbon or something so I decide to join him. Massive single malt to finish the night = banging head all day Saturday.
The mrs has just gone to the supermarket I’ve requested a bottle of bourbon. Fancy a change from beer.
