Just had a quick look at some of the reviews of that, a mixed bag. Some saying it was great, others saying it was ****.

So I think it’s your responsibility to review on behalf of the single malt lovers of the forum (e.g. me) and report back later <ok> tell the Mrs it’s company business <laugh>

I hate single malt whisky. One of the golf club Christmas dinners, the captain is a real connoisseur and kept ordering us all these single malts and talking us through them. Every single one tasted of peat and was vile. He must have spent at least £200 buying measures for 15 hammered blokes .

I like bourbon. Can drink it neat no ice quite happily. Had a bottle the other week, I used to have a cheeky shot Or three of it before a dog walk. Decided I was showing alcoholic tendencies and haven’t replaced it yet.

this last week I opened a bottle of sherry which I have been having as a chaser with my beer <laugh>

I have no idea how I’m going to manage going back to work as my alcoholism is awful.

If it's the Penderyn stuff then it's very good as in much better than your average supermarket tipple but not as good as your jock single malt stuff. @Tobes

Good sherry is very nice, as far as peated whiskey goes put it in the fridge until chilled, run a glass under hot water until it's warm and pour. The difference is incredible.

Peaty single malts are a bit of an acquired taste imo. I really like them, but if you’re not a whisky lover I can see why they’d be a tough gig. The Irish peaty malts are really out there.

sorry to disappoint you but the reason it is still in the bottle as i'm a bit twitchy about getting too drunk atm for various reasons ,
PS And don't say just have one glass as that is fine if it isn't good but if i like it well one isn't going to cut it <laugh>

PS Auchentoshan 10 year old was a particular favourite years ago then the bastards stopped producing it .

I just find proper scotch is like drinking acid. The American stuff is smoother and sweeter.

I quite like Jameson’s Irish whiskey as well.

I’m not a fan of brandy, but I like that Greek stuff is it metaxa?

Yeah, Penderyn is like a bog standard Scottish Single malt. Like a Glenmorangie. Nice, but not outstanding. Very drinkable though. There's a madeira version which is nice.

Give me a Talisker or Laphroaig any day.

I’m glad someone is. I’m having an absolute ****ter. Had 2 hours sleep again last night due to chronic insomnia, felt obliged to get out of my pit early despite this, as it’s my Mrs birthday. Have spent all day having ‘socially distanced’ conversations out of the back door, with all sorts rocking up to drop her off cards / presents, whilst feeling like I could kill some ****. I feel like getting smashed, but I can’t even do that, as I’m on ****ing antibiotics atm. FML.
