Thought I'd treat myself to an eighth as I had a nice win this weekend and not had a smoke for a week.

A husband is accused of murdering his wife of 30 years by pouring scalding hot fat over her at their chip shop.

Geoffrey Bran, 71, killed Mavis Bran, 69, at the Chipoteria in Hermon, Carmarthenshire after arguments about money, Swansea Crown Court heard.

Mrs Bran suffered severe cooking oil burns to her body after her husband pushed or threw one of three deep fat fryers, the court was told.

She died in hospital six days after suffering the burns in October last year.

that's pretty horrid way to go.

Been up half the night with ear problems. Every time I swim my ear get blocked and it’s painful as **** as well as being infuriating when it’s blocked up as I cant hear. Tried ear plugs, ear drops etc and nothing seems to fix it. It’s a ****ing muthafucka.

Think I’m going to have to get a referral to ENT and go for the op to sort out my surfers ear.

Not quite as simple as that unfortunately. Had them syringed a few times before. I have a condition called exotoses which is when ear canal produces boney growth to try and protect the eardrum. It comes from years of exposure to cold wet and windy conditions (surfing) and the only cure is surgery to have the bone drilled out.

Think it’s constant exposure to the water and wind that does it, but yes walkers can suffer from it too.

I think the procedure now has been modified so that they go in through the ear canal. But a few years ago they had to cut the back of the ear flap open and bend the whole ear forward to gain access to the ear canal.

But yeah, requires general anaesthetic and surgery. Then a 4-8 week recovery period.
