Look to have been bought. The major shareholders will now be the Saudis, and that could mean some big spending. If their takeover is all as it seems, they will be light years ahead of us when, if ever, we make it back to the premier league.
Wish them well, about time some good news for the North East football wise, it may encourage more investment into the region
Or it could be out of the frying pan etc. It now needs massive spending to get out of mid-table and stay there ... ... but good luck to them, money is the only way forward these days.
If it happens , and if they fly, and if we ever get back , I’m not bothered - even when they beat us once , let alone 6 on the trot , we’d know that it was “bought” bragging rights
Couldn't care less what happens up the road, they only feature in my thoughts when we play each other and as it is thank god Ive got a long memory.
Surely with Saudi Arabia's deplorable human rights record they will fail any test on being fit and proper owners?
After seeing that undercover report on the Sports Direct factory I'd say the Saudis will come out squeaky clean
I wouldn’t mind us buying success to be fair mate. Ideally any success we have would be through a sound business model but Sky money ****ed that up donkeys years ago for professional football. I can’t wish them luck they’re our main rivals, but I know many loyal season tickets holders that I class as mates and wouldn’t begrudge them happiness.
Agree with what you say , and I think it’ll be a long time until we’re wondering if we’ll finish higher than them- so long , maybe the world of football will be totally different anyway
Can't wait until their first match back and I can laugh at all the gimps sitting in the stands with tea towels on their heads.
surely the Newcastle mp will be up in arms about this what with the human rights record of the saudis
