what I actually said was, and i quote:

Now I personally believe that dying for your country is one of, if not the, ultimate sacrifice.

your anger is making you see things that are not there

    just a reminder

I heard an ad on the radio this morning, basically it was recruitment for the Infantry.

Now I personally believe that dying for your country is one of, if not the, ultimate sacrifice.

However the current wars this country is currently involved in would be the main reason I would not join if I could any time soon.

knowing what you know, would you join at this moment?

existing soldiers wouldnt have had a choice, orders are orders.
But knowing what you know, would you be a hero or a villain?

Aiden McAnespie, a member of Aghaloo Gaelic football club, was travelling to a match when he was killed by a gunshot wound to the back. He had just walked past a British Army checkpoint. The Army said that McAnespie had been hit when the weapon had discharged accidentally as a soldier was moving the gun with wet hands. Forensic evidence suggested that the fatal shot was one of three that had ricocheted off the road two metres behind McAnespie.Charges were initially brought against Grenadier Guard Jonathan Holden for manslaughter but were dropped prior to prosecution. He was fined for negligent discharge of the weapon and in 1990 was given a medical discharge.

    Yeah...ignorant

Actually I'm seeing things that you typed.

Why did you mention "dying for your country" on a thread about the British Army in the first place? You obviously think that is part of the reason people want to join and that is exactly what was implied by you or can't you see that?

This was your first post on this subject>>
So the soldier who shot him lives down your street or did you just go roaming through the back catalogue of killings in NI and choose one at random?

What has the killing/murder of Aiden McAnespie got to do the with gossiping big mouths on your street? Are you suggesting that the entire British Army "have a reputation for shooting first and lying about it later" based solely upon events which you personally did not witness?

I don't make sweeping generalisations regarding particular groups of people based on unusual events, If I did, I might be led to believe that you don't know what the **** you are talking about and are merely attempting to provoke a response.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you are attempting to wind me up because the only other alternative would be that which I have already laid out.
