You'd all moan of he never said a word <laugh>
It's just getting <doh>

Journos are now well aware of the sentiment towards what Rodgers says and his intense positivity <laugh> So they milk it with click bait. They always print what he says but rarely the questions that they asked that led to those answers, then you can make what he says look any way you want it to look.

If Rodgers says before a season starts we have no chance to win the league, I'd have his balls for it <laugh>

Meh. He was obviously asked if he still thinks he can win the title and he said yes. Better that than saying no. He says the points haul in the second half of the season was ok, but our first half was poor and next season needs to be better.

Nothing to see here.

Looks like the cry of a desperate man, the sentiments in the article are aimed at the owners as much as the supporters, his back's against the wall and he knows it
The part about bringing the correct type of player in during the summer is really because he wasted the mega money he had last year and is responsible for where we are now, he doesn't dwell on the reason we are well below the standard of last year be its down to him(and the departure of Suarez of course)

I think he knows the owners will give him at least another season and if so let's hope he's less stubborn and that he buys the best quality available with the transfer funds he's given.

Oh, and that he keeps his gob shut whether we're doing good or bad.<grr>

The thing is that it is all self justification and self promotion. It is not really about the club. It is "I am the best man for the job. Not really any one better than me out there. We have really improved since I joined as we were 8th and now we are..."

oh yes we have massively improved since he joined and we have won more silverware :bandit: and we are challenging for the title on a regular basis...

He needs to learn not to wind up his fans. Outstanding performance against WBA?. <grr>

Cost of renting a Cessna £700
Cost of anti brod banner £50

Flying a [HASHTAG]#meltdown[/HASHTAG] over anfield on matchday [HASHTAG]#priceless[/HASHTAG]

Bang on the money <ok>

He's a master at his personal PR.

There is another word for this. If a team or part of the team has underperformed, what's wrong in saying it? "The attack was not good. We needed to score but we couldn't." Is he afraid that his telling the truth might reflect on his role as manager?

If we took all his post match interviews at face value, people would think we are miles ahead of every other team and winning the title at a canter.

I am not saying he is right, "intense positivity" was just my way of saying he's not being realistic but.. his job is not to keep you all happy with the things you want to hear.

Obviously his job is to manager the team, and on that alone I will judge him.

Fergie claimed the CL draw was rigged and got less **** for it <laugh> Claims his team were the better side after getting mullered 4 1.

Who cares what Brod says, as long as he stops callin Sterling "boy" I'm fine with it <laugh>

Oh Come on.

His job is to communicate with the fans. Not to bullshit us. Yes, I can undertand that he needs to be positive. But is putting a gloss on everything the right way? In fact I think it could be counterproductive.

We may start thinking he has not been watching the same match as the rest of us. <ok>

Show me a manager who doesn't bullshit or say things we don't agree with <ok>

Martinez PROMISED CL football. <laugh> I don't even hold that against him like, just as Rafa promised CL qualification. Guess who the media slated far more over their failed promise eh?

There are not many managers who set out to BS his own fans after a match. <ok>

I think you are way too deep into Brod's comments mate. He's saying them to the media, if he was sitting across from me in the pub saying those things I'd call bullshit. But he's not :D

<laugh>

I can't remember seeing an interview where he says " the defeat was down to me ", " I made an error of judgement when I made the substitution ", " my team selection was wrong on the day " etc.

<whistle>

Martinez has never made a comment to the media saying that.

I'm not a big fan of Rodgers but personally, I don't see too much wrong with his comments. It's defiant and he talks about winning the league - which is what I want from our manager.

There have been times when he has shown his small time mentality - most notable saying winning the Playoff Final as the highlight of his career, but this article isn't one of them.

Usually you say it after winning a game well, not drawing 0-0.

boht comments after the last game look weak for that reason.

If he'd won 4-0 then sure mouth.

Now if he loses tonight he looks even worse

That cannot happen surely! Hull is a poor poor team fighting relegation and if we get beat by this shower he needs to be hung drawn and quartered...

anything can happen in a 11 v 11 contest

they are in serious trouble. therefore its do or die time and that ups their level one would expect. On the other hand we drew with west brom who had a game plan.

So for me first goal might well win it. I hope we get it.... we must respect their abilities and give our all as a club to win the game.
