Bundesliga is the 3rd best league in europe. Behind La Liga and the Prem. All three are significatly better than everything else.

Basically, ignore the lizard man.

I would tentatively put Serie A above it right now... Napoli, Roma, Fiorentina and Juventus are all decent + Milan and Inter are still huge clubs.

Bayern really distort the weighting given to Bundes. They're so far ahead of their league.

It's Klopp's job to make sure free fall doesn't happen, plus if he is going to get the credit for winning as everyone has done so, then surely he has to take the credit for the failure<ok>
[HASHTAG]#worksbothways[/HASHTAG]

As for the Bundes, it's pure ****e for the most part, it's almost like the SPL, almost <laugh> Bayern Dortmund(before this year) Schalke, Leverkusen who take all the good players and Europe takes the rest.

How many German teams have won Europey.. a german also ran team has not won Europa \ UEFA since 96 and 97

Europey is a decent indicator of the quality of a league outside of the top teams in each league and that also busts the whole "Spanish league is **** outside of barca Real" as Spainish teams have dominated Europa, 6 wins since 03\04. Even then the English sides to win it were Liverpool and Chelsea, who are in that top bracket, no also ran English side has won Europey since 81.

So the Portugese League and Russian leagues must be really strong right now? If the EL is any kind of indication...

Doesnt add up.

Its not even close. Serie A is so poor now its dropping into Ligue 1 and Erdevisie levels. Juventus are good but beyond them nobody else is worth a mention.

In fairness the EL is a decent indicator of league strength. But it's not black/white - don't think Sisu meant it to be!

Some clubs take it seriously while others dont. Its basically worthless in trying to work out who is better.

Everton battered Wolfsberg but lost to Kiev (i think). What did that tell us about the three leagues? Nothing. Not one thing.

Seville are often in the latter stages of the EL. Does it tell is anything? Only thet they aren't good enough for Europes elite competition.

I get your point believe me... But taking stock of the trend in Europa league performers along with other factors is a sound way to consider the strength of a league.

Any nation can get one or two wins, Ukraine Turkey Russia England Holland portugal, so statistically that would be a norm, but Spain's 6 wins is triple that. Proves my point<ok> Germany 0 wins in the last nearly 2 decades also proves my point about the German also rans.

I keep telling you it "doesn't add up" for you cos you are lazy and **** at maths

Proves absolutely nothing.

Do you think the Portugese Premier League is better than the Bundesliga?

Another fail, Portugal's TOP team won it, not a portuguese also ran team, you dope <laugh> Portugal's top team is better than the german also ran teams.

You are comparing leagues, that's not what is being discussed here, reading fail<ok>

Are you really that stupid or just pretending <laugh>

This whole discusion is about the also ran teams and how they have fared against other also ran European teams.

You need to go back to the start of this particular discussion and read again you dope <laugh>

Also rans have made the final 3 out of the last 4 seasons though. If you are only taking winners into account then it's even more irrelevant.

Portugals top side tends to do well in europe, regardless of which competition. The other clubs are solid contenders in the EL and have done much better than German sides have.

So based on your claims that the EL is a good indicator, the Portugese league is one of the strongest in Europe?

Its not.

You read it folks, taking the actual winners into account is irrelevant when assesing who are the most successful also ran sides in Europe.

I just give ****ing up, you just can't fix stupid <laugh>

That's my thing that I do, **** off and get your own trademark <whistle>

Spain's second tier sides are better than the second tier sides in any other European football nation.

Tell me when you get tired digging, I'll fill in the hole with you in it<laugh>

You do know the also rans would be the sides in the Champions League. 3 German sides made it from their group. One Portugese side managed it.

Both leagues have one dominant side. The rest are also rans who take turns with who is best in any given season. The German also rans tend to be highly competitive in the Champions League while the Portugese tend to do well in the Europa.

German also rans > Portugese also rans. Bundesliga is better and is comfortably the 3rd league on europe. It is in fact, close enough that if English clubs dont buck their ideas up, it will be second.

There's a pretty simple way of working out strongest leagues in Europe... Look at the European coefficient of each of them <ok>

what also ran German teams in the CL? Schalke are not an also ran team in Germany.
What Portuguese teams? Porto and Benfica are the top sides in Portugal you dope. <laugh> Only Lisbon is of note the rest of the league there are also rans.
Tell me the last time a Portugese also ran team won Europa?

My point was at the top is Spain's also ran teams 6 EL wins and some good CL performances too.
Then everyone else with a smattering of wins, no more than 2, some with just 1
Then German and italian also rans who have not won Europey since the 90s.

<ok>

What kicked this off was I was saying Klopp has to take the blame for Dortmund's failure this season as much as he got the credit for their success.

Then it kinda snowballed when UIR came in swinging on a secondary point that was not really what we were talking about <laugh>
