Victor Orta has admitted that it will be “very difficult” for Leeds United to keep Samuel Saiz and Pontus Jansson next season if they both push to leave the club. United director of football Orta made the startling admission as he responded to fears among supporters about the long-term futures of the team’s star pair. Speaking to an online Leeds Q&A forum uploaded on to the club’s app, and as cited by Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Phil Hay, the Spaniard says the club have a degree of power as playmaker Saiz and centre-back Jansson have both signed long-term contracts in the last 12 months. Orta explained United are “really keen” to hang on to the star duo but admitted that, like, Chris Wood, if they want to quit, it is “very difficult” to hang on to them.
Andrea Radrizzani said that it was Rob Green’s choice to leave the club over the summer, but some Leeds fans still aren’t happy with the deal. The Leeds owner was talking in a live Q&A on the LUTV app on Monday lunchtime and the first question was a very direct, “Who got rid of Rob Green?” He said that Green had wanted a guarantee that he would be the Leeds number one and after that didn’t happen he took a move to Premier League Huddersfield. Former Leeds United captain and accomplice jailed for bogus scheme Former Leeds United captain Mark Aizlewood has been jailed for six years for running a bogus leadership scheme. please log in to view this image Paul Sugrue (left) and former Wales international Mark Aizlewood. Credit: Press Association The 58-year-old, along with Paul Sugrue, 56 - whose past clubs include Manchester City, Middlesbrough and Cardiff City - obtained £5 million from schools and colleges through a bogus sports leadership scheme. Sugrue was sentenced to seven years in prison. Judge David Tomlinson said: "There was a serious detrimental affect on colleges of further education." He said it involved "eye watering sums of Government money" under the pretext of helping disadvantaged people, adding: "This was quite simply shameful exploitation." Aizlewood played for Leeds between 1987 and 1989.
Brentford boss Dean Smith is furious at the officials for allowing Cooper's goal which was apparently offside!!! “At times today, the officials could have come off the pitch and the game could have been refereed by the Elland Road crowd,” he said. “You need big decisions to go your way when you come here and unfortunately, we didn’t get them. “On our second-half performance we didn’t deserve to win anything but we didn’t deserve to lose the game. “To lose it on a decision which was offside was tough to take. “It wasn’t one for the purists, although, saying that, we were dominant for 30 minutes. We had a lot of the ball and had a couple of chances. “The game was changed on a goal that has been proven to be offside. “Second half, we were poor on the ball. We didn’t move it well enough and didn’t get behind them. “I don’t think we ran out of steam. We over-hit stuff and our decision making was poor. “It was a poor second half of football.” Smith’s thoughts were echoed by captain John Egan, who admitted the Bees lost momentum in the second half. "I think in the first half, especially after the first three or four minutes, we started to dominate," he said.
Worse fears coming to fruition Rad's bought Leeds U as a shop window to sell on players. What's the bet Orta's on commission
Former Swansea City boss Garry Monk took advice from Ryan Jones and other Welsh rugby stars after being sacked by Middlesbrough. The ex-Swans centre-back, who has also managed Leeds United but is now out of a job, revealed he also spoke to snooker players, tennis players and visited clubs in other sports to help refine his style ahead of a return to management. He was touted for an unlikely Swansea return after Paul Clement's sacking, then linked with the Barnsley role after Paul Heckingbottom departed for Leeds. Bookmakers now have him in contention to take over at either Birmingham or West Brom should under-fire managers Steve Cotterill or Alan Pardew receive their marching orders. Monk, in an interview with Sports Keed a, revealed the impact of his sacking by Boro and what he's done since leaving Teesside. "When you first leave a club, you cry for about two weeks," he said. "When I left Middlesbrough, the first thing I did was review the process. "I discuss it with my staff, sit with them and discuss everything from on the pitch to what happened off the pitch. What went well, what didn't go well and we refine it. It's about using the time to meet other people, other clubs, other sports, other businesses and develop new ideas for yourself." Monk declared himself ready for a return to the dugout and will surely be in contention should be job in the top two tiers of English football become available. "I am ready to go back in and ready to start working," he added. "I am waiting for the right opportunity, I am ready to go and when the opportunity comes, I will take it. "I spoke to some rugby people, I went to see how their sport worked. I became friends with some Welsh internationals like Ryan Jones who is an ex-captain. I spoke to him to get an insight into their team. "I spoke to some snooker players, it's a totally different sport but from a psychological point of view, I wanted to learn about concentration. I spoke to some tennis coaches who train individuals, that was for a physical point of view. I also spoke to business people to understand how the structure works." Monk also revealed the difficulties in coaching players and how to handle different personalities. He spoke about an unnamed Swansea player who would "become nasty" when his form dropped. "I often pick players more on the human side," he said. "How they are as a person and how they conduct themselves. "I had a player at Swansea, he had all the ability in the world, a good player - he'd be brilliant for two months then fall off the face of the earth, become nasty and disrupt training, his form would drop.
He's only not guaranteeing they will be there next Summer. 20m for Suiz, and if the money is guaranteed to be reinvested to get 3 or 4 quality players? Flint 6m Ings 9m 5m on other two
When was the last time the money fully reinvested? We are a breeding farm for talent. The soul of the club has been ripped out by every owner since 2002.
Last count, hadn't our youngsters won 6 games on the trot? Aren't we moving in the right direction? 5 years ago, we had no scouts! We had no analysts. There was talk of our youngsters getting disbanded. We now have two feeder clubs abroad. We now own Elland Road.
