Good afternoon Matt and co from a wet Bardsey If you read my notes yesterday I said we should get rid of Felix and buy Alex Mcartney from Southampton and whilst were at it buy Joe bryan from Bristol C and Dwight Gayle from Newcastle this will give us a much stronger defence as anyone thought that the reason for Jenson poor bform is him worrying all the time about what clanger Felix will drop next By buying Gayle we are getting a proven scorer
Matt could you tell me how many players contract expires next year I have a feeling there is inly Hernandez which would tend to indicate we don't like our outfield players to be over 31
Tottenham's Aussie insider reveals how superstar Kane was almost sold to leeds please log in to view this image Harry Kane (Getty Images Europe) Hide Grid The Australian talent scout who spearheaded Tottenham Hotspur's European network for three years has revealed how superstar Harry Kane would have left for Leeds United, but for the intervention of then coach Tim Sherwood. By Dave Lewis 26 Oct 2017 - 12:29 PM UPDATED YESTERDAY 12:29 PM Now valued at up to £223 million (A$380 million) and seemingly beyond even the deep pockets of a covetous Real Madrid, the England striker came within a whisker of being let go back in January 2014, after a series of lacklustre loan spells. Sydneysider David Magrone, who worked under Andre Villas-Boas and Sherwood in Tottenham's inner sanctum, said it was only Kane's refusal to give up on his dream and Sherwood's faith that forestalled a Yorkshire switch. "There was serious consideration among the hierarchy at the club to letting him go to Leeds because he'd been out on loan and had never really set the world on fire," said Magrone, who was responsible for bringing Socceroos midfielder Massimo Luongo to Spurs prior to the midfielder's eventual move to Queens Park Rangers. "But Tim knew he was a Premier League player in the making, and really didn't want to let him go, even if the chairman (Daniel Levy) possibly did." please log in to view this image Kane nets double as Tottenham hit Liverpool for four In-form Harry Kane scored another double as Tottenham Hotspur thrashed Liverpool 4-1 to increase the pressure on Jurgen Klopp. Magrone also identified and recommended Spurs success stories Deli Ali and Son Heung-Min
Mike just a point: You are supposed to have me on ignore so cant know what Matt was responding to when you liked this post.
Genuinely i think it was a tricky one for the club... fair enough to buy a keeper for the future - but it came at the risk of what subsequently happened. Don’t know if Felix was given assurances he’d start as number 1, but it’s pretty obvious who the better keeper is, so if green had been given assurances it was his shirt to lose, i think he’d still be here. As it is, TC stated his first choice would be Felix... and the chain of events then became predictable.
Is that you setting the rules now? You have no idea what Mike is 'supposed' to be doing. I suspect he has no such restrictions on him. Mike has a history of simply responding to attacks, not instigating them, like you. And stop kidding yourself, we all know fine well that your ego will not stop you lurking to see what your list of blocked contributors is saying about you. You can't help yourself.
Read this & wondered if it might deflect some from the Brexit war. I'd love him back, even just short term. What do you think? .... https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/n...cdermott-signing-get-into-todays-leeds-squad/
Bit torn. He is never going to be a world beater, but with 10 minutes to go. Bring him on and start tossing balls into the box is an easy fix plan B. I just dont think that returning players is a sign of progress.
I agree to the extent that there's no point having people back just because they were ex-players. However, I equally don't think a signing which might work to our advantage should be excluded just because they were here before. Smith was sold prematurely, and offers something we don't have elsewhere in the squad. I'd like to see it happen.
Not disagreeing. I an not anti as I would be if it was a 30 something ex player that failed to make it in the prem just coming back to top up his pension. McGreedycnut for example.
