I feel like I'm droning on like Chippy about this, but we're hamstrung by being poor in the air. Start of the year, anything into our box, Cooper then Jansson was dealing with it - rock solid, or that's my memory of it. No longer the case. We're no aerial threat to anyone at corners - only goal I can remember scoring was Phillips short on the ground v Bolton. Other teams take us to the cleaners in the air from set pieces, shipping loads and lucky with more. 2 on Sunday because Ayling couldn't deal with Fletcher, he should have clobbered him early on and kept doing it. Lassogga may have his strengths, but being a big aerial target man ain't one of them - how many knock downs for the attacking mids can you think of? Anything knocked forward in the air is gobbled up by the opposing defence, and he's the best we've got - Roofe wins the odd one too, but not many. Result is we have to play out from the back and teams have worked out that they just got to get in our faces and disrupt the rythm - exactly what happened between 15 and 25 minutes on Sunday. That's it, rant over and no more doom and gloom for the forseeable. Boggers would have had a positive slant for it all. RIP buddy, you'll be greatly missed, thoughts are with Jan and the family today.
speaking of lemons how are you m8ty all good I hope you might be right it is a bit girlie nice though
Brought a bottle back from Milan when I was working out there. Didny last long. Fave 'foreign' drink I found was the Finnish 'Salmiakki Vodka'. Magic!
Last season we take a corner and we had Wood attracting the oppositions tallest defender, then we push Pontus up at 6'5" and the opposition must have felt uneasy and then they look at Bartley and at 6'4" he was a real threat in the air and his 6 goals proved that. Cooper is only 6'0 and agreed, Lasogga is nothing special in the air, I was thinking the same thoughts on Sunday, what a short arse team we look at the moment. It's a shame Grot isn't the finished article yet, I just hope Thomas sorts out a few problems over the next two weeks.
