Heard a story today that apparently sources back to Dom Matteo via his brother in law. Deal already done for Wood (currently £8k pw). Going to Burnley for £16-17m. Kraut (£60k pw) & McContract (£45k pw) both on loan to replace him. I reckon if this happens, and we only pay half of their wages - even with Woods wages subtracted - we'll still be laying out about £45k pw, or £2.3m pa. Personally, I'd rather we paid Wood the £45k pw. I didn't realise he was on such a low wage. Prolly a load of tosh, but you never know.
The German is here for one reason only, thats to play striker for Leeds Utd. That would be assisting Wood, or rotating with Wood to keep him fresh. If however Wood decides to go another strikwr needed and thats maybe where McContract comes in. Bruce has had enough of him and suspect will pay part of his wages, but I want him to go to Sunderland as I dont think hes fit for our dressing room. Or fit enough mentally to score goals for us.
