Forget all this banter bollocks, given the length of time before the subs were brought on, do you think that was the starting line-up for Bolton? Other than Pennington & Alioski same as last season?

Plus the keeper. Could well be but maybe a better plan than starting first league game with maybe seven or eight newbies

Possibly LOL. The difference with last year is that Thomas will have more options than Monk had last season. Although we have plenty of attacking options, not sure who will get the goals if Wood doesn't

    Plenty of attacking options?
They are all called Chris Wood.
No left back, a zillion midfielders .....all piss poor.

Couldn't follow the game, ****ing drains blocked and spent several hours shovelling months old **** (felt like a millwall player on a busman's holiday), but TC see Phillips ahead of Klich, Saiz, Viera, Anita, Bridcutt etc....

Could have something to do with players being at different stages of fitness at this time. It’ll be a few games in before we can judge the best eleven I’d imagine. No way of knowing fitness levels of newly signed foreigners but TC will know, seeing them daily

Oxford triallists in a friendly... Neither are good enough to play in a promotion chasing squad... They werent good enough last year and they wont get any better.

It was the same 'probables' approach in Austria, & I think it'll be pretty close to the starting 11. Pablo had a stinker today. That, combined with Saiz doing more in 10 mins than he did in the whole Austrian tour, makes me think that Saiz may have played himself into the starting 11. He made the game come alive & I was right impressed (I wasn't in Austria, but he was played forward in a 4-4-1-1 there, which didn't appear to suit him).

Is that a good thing? Should he not know by now how he intends to set up against Bolton and with whom otherwise what's the point of the preseason friendlies?

I expect season will be five or six games in before the first eleven is obvious to be honest. Remember Pontus didn’t play last season straight away after signing
