morning all ... new day, some time to think about what I saw in yesterday's game

Green was not great, two goals from near post headers and I can tell you now that if it was Marco in goal this board would be drowing in dissenting voices ... he looked disinterested and needs to find his passion or go

Ayling got well roasted by their right winger, and in second half after Anita switched with Ayling, the right winger moved over to Ayling's side after finding Anita a bit more difficult ... Ayling finally made a tackle against him in the 85th minute when the winger started running out of steam ... during our poor run in last season, Ayling started to struggle as more teams started to run at him rather than cross from deep, and same happened with Berardi ... this forced us deeper and our already under pressure holding mids couldn't get us up the pitch from deep

O'Kane was excellent, and Phillips benefited from his presence, even getting up towards their penalty area thanks to O'Kane's reliability ... less said about Bridcutt the better, looked slow and ponderous ... the first half team struggled to get the ball forward, frustrating Saiz and Wood out of the game

Roofe and Alioski were different gravy, but they had the benefit of O'Kane moving play forward which also allowed Anita and Ayling to get up the pitch more ... Pablo showed some usual nice touches but still doesn't do enough, Saiz definitely grafts more and it would have been good to see him in the seond half line up

starting eleven for Bolton, as it stands with our squad right now would be:

Felix the Cat
Ayling Pennington Cooper Anita
O'Kane Vieira
Roofe Saiz Alioski
Wood

Bench: Green, Berardi, Shaughnessy, Phillips, Pablo, Sacko, Ekuban

one thing's for sure, we're definitely not a one dimensional team anymore

Ayling appears to have cult status to some, and i like him... but, he does get done for pace, and his defensive positioning isn't always the best. Good player at this level, not god's gift.

Re defence. All i hear is bartley this bartley that, people are worried about us defensively. He's a very good player at this level and i'd like him back. But whilst, it's true we need a commanding centre half, even with the same back four as last year we wouldn't look as rock solid. Monk set his team up to defend, central midfielders sitting deep, forcing teams to lump balls into the box against two big centre halves. Part of the reason the midfield looked so carp was the job they were asked to do. If TC is looking for a more total football approach we will be weaker at the back whoever we play.... and everyone will say it's because we don't have bartley and blame the new centre half.

Don't know what's up DON, & this isn't probably the best place to go into details, but whatever your difficulties are, I hope they get sorted in the near future. Regards to you & yours

£21 my ticket m8,just plastics like Glory, they will rip off.

I would never buy a ticket on the day but £49/£44 is ridiculous for a second tier game and Preston being Cat A is just taking the piss.

Before you get too smug based on this price increase you can factor in your season ticket being £40 more when you renew next year...
I hope you get good value from it this year.

No it won't be renewals are cheaper,so even if it goes up will still be less.

Can't work that price out tbh,as the club said only for any playoffs etc,but the club don't get most of playoff money it is shared between clubs.wonder if new owners don't realise this.
