Anyone putting £50 on anyone would swing the odds so not sure Clotet odds are relevant. Hope its because he is getting the job by the way . Those wanting Carragher need to think about Gary Neville and what happened to him. Yes may work out but a gamble
I'd rather have someone who seems to care about the club is young keen to succeed and make a name for himself. That was supposed to be Monk but he's fallen at the first hurdle and shown a lack of stomach for the fight. As we've said many times there is a massive chance for someone to make themselves a legend and I'd much prefer it be someone like Pep who has his whole career before him than some merry go manager to whom we mean nothing.
Also I'm pleased to see everyone is laying off eland and his choice of car. There is absolutely no need for homophobic comments on here and quite frankly I find some of it offensive. Plus it was probably a present from his husband and he had no input in the choice of colour !
How can you be happy with immigrants being our owner, DOF and head coach... Some Brexiteer you are! #hypocrite
We should run a sweepstake to see what day/date Rad shows us our new manager/coach. I'm going for Wednesday 7th June 2pm. Hope it aint Steve Keane
we must be due to re-announce Pontus for the third time before announcing sacko for the second surely. Does anyone think Rad has alheimers and has forgotten when he already said? Hope he remembers we need a coach soon.
A thought has just occurred to me. A little curve ball for you to consider .... Is it possible that Radz will announce a caretaker? Just sayin'. Wanted to 'get to know' Monk, after all, so why not 'get to know' Pep, if he'll take the job?
It's just dead silence from the club, none of the usual 'we've drawn up a shortlist' etc or time frame for when they hope to appoint a new head coach / manager.
Wakey I understand what you are saying and don't disagree with the sentiment, so take the next part as tongue We've already had a German manager in Uwe Rosler, and we even went more international when Darko ( a Slovenian) was appointed, and they were real successful. So we have already tried a change from the normal, although that was under Cellino , so we changed from the norm on a daily basis most probably. On a more general view, though, is going the continental approach, with a Director of Football the right or wrong way to proceed, As you say foreign managers are more use to working that system, and are happy to be pure coaches, where as home grown managers prefer to have a hands on approach. As it been the managerial style of our British managers that has limited our progression or is it more down to how the club has been run as a whole. When it comes down to judging how good a player is and should he be signed, do you trust whoever we have as our Director of Football , or would you trust the judgement of someone, like Allardyce, McCarthy, Pulis etc
Jock if that was going to happen I think it will have been discussed already, unless Pep is on holiday. But if thats not been discussed Pep & Beats will be out of contract anytime now, so wioll be either looking for a new gig or as I suspect waiting for Monks new gig
Wakey I refer you back to earlier in the thread where I stated the only foreign managers who got out of the championship to prem league were given big war chests. Yes it could happen with a DoF and a small budget but not happened yet. smart money says look at the characteristics of all the brit managers to get promoted, factor in working for a DoF, choose your man and point him in the right direction. Top name brits will not do it, top name foreign would but would need guarantee of cash
Understandably..... There is a gulf between the prem and championship. How bad are we to be only mid table in the second tier.
