Good Morning Everyone,

Following our disappointing home draw against Norwich, Kyle Bartley was interviewed by Popey.

Here's a link to the audio :-

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p051hxc5

He is absolutely spot on with what he had to say.

This dashing, young, intelligent poster (below) could not have said it better.

Elland Back‏@EllandBack1
@MariaBartley Kyle has been a leader on the pitch, a gentleman off the pitch and a warrior at all times. We will miss him soooooo much. MOT <wah>

This post was sent to Kyle's mum, Maria. A lady who, although her son is a professional footballer still works around the clock for the NHS at a specialist burns unit in Stockport.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for our second loanee from Swansea.

For whatever reason, things have not worked out for Matt Grimes, and after a handful of appearances resigned himself to the reserves. In most instances he was unable to make the subs bench.

This is a guy who was an England under 21 player. If the rumours are correct, he was one of the highest wage earners at Elland Road.

Here are some facebook / twitter comments from Mrs Grimes who apparently does not work, and lives off handouts from her footballer sons :-

Morning all, I did see that Grimes one doing the rounds yesterday.

Bartley has had no contact from Leeds, sounds like he would be open to and welcome a permanent move but only if Monk is signed up.

Whatever the owner has in mind, let's hope lessons are learnt from the snail pace of last seasons preseason.

Morning all. Its not going to take much to push us into at least top 6 next season, if not autos. In priority order, I put 1. Sign up Monk; 2. Get Jansson, Bartley & Wood on contracts; 3. Sign up cover for our CBs & Wood; 4. As much as Monk needs beyond these first 3 points

If we werent good enough what makes you think we will be any better next year.
We either need to keep those and improve in other areas or let them go and invest in better across the squad.
We certainly need players than can play more than one system. Hoof it in to woood was slwzys only going to get us so far. He wont have another season like that as he is now a known comodity.

Monk did well but there are others that could improve us, i still think zola is coming and thats a disaster.

Monk had a bad start to your season and after 6/7 games many wanted him sacked, Last (and most important) 7 games of the season you were coasting for the playoffs had an outside chance of auto and you managed only 1 win and failed and you want to keep him <yikes>

Big failure in my honest opinion <ok>

Morning all. Next season must be a push for autos. Playoffs are a lottery. You could be in them
Ten years in a row and a team still mightn't make it. So target must be top two

easier said than done you need a big chairman big manager big squad big money <ok>

Some have said next season won't be as hard, well we will have three teams out of Fulham, Huddersfield, Reading and Wednesday all believing they can do it. Another team that will believe they are capable after this season is Sheffield United and the three that come down will all be looking to bounce straight back up. Villa have got used to it after a season here, Derby and Norwich will both believe they have a chance, next season isn't going to be easy to make top 6 and top 2 would take a miracle.

Morning all. Monk has started to build the team from the back, we just need to sort out the middle and add to the strike force! I have been really impressed with the defence and keeping Ayling, Bartley, Janson, Beradi, Wood and Taylor keeps the foundations in place for next season.

We have the 4th best defensive record in the league, including the two promoted sides. We need to build a midfield that can dominate the opposition, not just rat around trying to break up their play. If Wood stays I doubt we will see him hit as many goals as this season, so it's important to get another striker who can contribute to 15 plus goals alongside him. We also need goals from midfield.

The defensive job was done, we were 15 to 20 goals short of being contenders this year - the difference between backs to the wall defensive performances and winning those tougher games in this league.

Very true mighty which makes me wonder why you lot are even trying to get promotion. Obviously to make up numbers as always. Met up with two wallies out here on the hols. They were attracted to
My Leeds jersey. That's six fans I make it you now have <ok>

There are posts like that every year.

Its simply a tough league, every season. You have to do something extra to get out and we have failed to do so.... again

Leeds were in the top 4 goals difference charts which is storming when we only had 1 striker in reality scoring goals. We were also in the top 4 defenses, so on paper we were good enough to go up, but as Monk said, too many kids were not ready & couldnt handle the extra pressure.

Ristac & Eire are correct in that we dont sign Monk and the players he brought in, plus add to what we have, we have no chance and teams like Derby have been close for years but not made it back up.

next season will be the hardest ever when you consider teams coming down, those teams who didnt make it through play offs, those teams like Leeds & Derby, plus Forest who are coming back, Norwich who will invest again, Villa will come good with Bruce, Birmingham will be back plus a whole load of teams on parachute money. Its almost becoming Premier League 2nd division.

Redrizzani needs to step up or fook off in the next few weeks. he either needs to back up his mouth with some actions or just be another big mouthed Italian. The fans & the city showed football what its been missing and needs us back in the top flight. Rad either puts up or shuts up. we will be in contention next season for auto or relegation

One thing is for sure, rad is under the microscope with the majority of fans and I doubt if he'll be afforded two or three transfer windows to get it right. He has to get it done this summer or I suspect there will be lots of discontent

If the kids weren't ready like Monk said, then why did he keep playing'em....what he kept doing and what he said, after we weren't getting promoted doesn't make sense......:emoticon-0148-yes:
