Morning Doc, well said. Personally, I felt Monk's selection yesterday was arrogant. There was no thought selection regarding formation, players or balance of the team but would have looked like a god had we won 1-0
Morning Mighty. Radrizzani is expected to take 100% control in the Summer so I guess Cellino will be looking for a new project closer to home. Morning btw pal
morning boss you might be right must admit my first thought was maybe he is expecting a long prison sentence
I am mystified why a championship side scrambling for a place in the play offs should field a weakened side against a non league club rather than trying to progress in the cup.
From O'Kane's wiki page. O'Kane grew up in Feeny, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, the eldest child of Charlie O'Kane and Lorraine O'Kane.[4] He has one younger sister, Cora. O'Kane played gaelic football in his youth for Banagher GAC while his father helped to coach the Derry GAAhurling minors to their last Ulster title success in 2001. O'Kane went to primary school in St. Canice's and received second-level education in St. Patrick's College, Maghera. He joined Maiden City Soccer Academy at the age of 10 and was being scouted by Manchester City among other clubs from the age of 12. O'Kane decided to give up gaelic football at the age of 16 to instead focus on his football career
O'Kane has played 14 games for us this season. Absolutely no reason why he could not have played for an hour. No reason why Ayling could not have played 45 mins as central defender especially as Cooper had been booked. Berardi has played 12 times for us this season. No reason why he could not play. WHY? Last 16 of the Cup Keep the winning mentality
morning .. I was mega fcuked off yesterday, but then a Victimpool supporting mate text me to say the £97m for getting to the Prem is more important .. the team Monk selected had way more quality than Sutton, but the game was lost in the first two minutes .. the disgraceful tackle where the Sutton player went through Grimes with no intention of getting the ball put the Leeds boys on the back foot when the ref refused to dish out a yellow .. after that you could see the effort was a bit half-hearted and Leeds backed out of the 50-50s .. it also didn't help that a senior player like Doukara looked like he'd rather be at home .. Monk took the blame squarely, and refused to blame his players, though I'm certain he would have said a few things in the dressing room this loss wasn't a "shock", just as the Lincoln and Wolves results weren't shocks .. heck, even Wycombe came within a heartbeat of "shocking" Spurs .. the FA Cup is suffering badly because Prem and Championship clubs are focused on the pot of gold that the top division offers .. let's say this happened: Leeds best eleven start at Sutton, Wood makes it 4-0 by half-time, Sutton start kicking anything that moves .. Hernandez, Ayling and Wood all take knocks that rule them out of Rovers game, Jansson gets a red Leeds lose 1-0 at Rovers, draw the game after Wolves away in Round Five, draw 1-1 .. Wood out for season after nasty tackle, Ayling breaks down and is out for six games Leeds next two League games are draws Replay at home and Leeds go through on penalties, Hernandez does a hammy, Bridcutt turns an ankle and Jansson gets another red and a five match ban Next two League games are losses, before a trip to Stamford Bridge ends in a 6-0 humiliation in the FA Cup quarter finals Season is totally derailed, and although the boys battle manfully, Leeds finish 9th behind Barnsley We all come on here and hammer Monk for trying to win the Cup, and wonder why he didn't field a reserve team at Sutton, because it worked okay in the League Cup!! I am as disappointed as the next man that we lost at Sutton, and I was spitting feathers yesterday, but this morning I look at our League position and I understand why it happened .. Brighton and Newcastle both forfeited the Cup, Derby have a tough replay .. yes, I wanted us to progress, but in all honesty I'd rather we are still in contention for promotion in May than having had a brave Cup run halted unceremoniously in March at a cost Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Morning all, I agree with Billy here. Monk clearly had another agenda yesterday, and rightly or wrongly was willing to exit the cup given the squad selected. Unfortunately, that smacks of trouble at mill, and harks back to his pointed comments when Mowatt was sold. If Radz/Cellino is really doing a Bates and not backing him to strengthen, and we end up 7th again, do you think Monk will stay? We're only in the hunt in the first place because of what he/Clotet have done. Let's hope Fletcher and the Spanish winger weigh in later on.
Blackburn Rovers draw a home tie against Man Utd / Man City in the next round the fans the staff and the team are buzzin and all want to be a part of it team starts playing out of their skins to win a place in the side and they kick your asses 4~0 we drew Bournemouth in the last round and Watford in this round and we are currently on an 8 game unbeaten run and in the hat for the next round long may it continue
What a load of b******s. Leeds decide not to play or train any first team players during in winter months in case they slip on any ice and injure themselves. They are football players FFS
Burnley reportedly closing in on Hull left-back Andy Robertson for £10m as Hull continue the "let's sell our whole team" approach.
Morning pal. You don't make 10 changes though, AND change the formation. A couple of senior players in the middle of the park to organise things was all that would have been needed. Perhaps one first choice defender to marshall them
Leeds agree £8.5m deal for Spanish winger Alfonso Pedraza http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/760570/Leeds-Transfer-News-Alfonso-Pedraza-Villarreal-Loan-Buy-Deal-8-5million…
Brissy, you live in a nice part of the World http://www.realestate.com.au/buy/in-redland city region, qld/list-2
According to Monk Sacko has been available for selection for a while, his omission from the last few games was nothing to do with injury, I believe someone else reported it last week on here? We were discussing a week or so back as to why he is being left out. If this SerieB attacker is wanted by Monk and Clotet fine, I just have a horrible feeling he isn't high on Monks shopping list, I could be wrong and yes I might be jumping to conclusions but Serie B players have not been a good hunting ground for us, they have shown they are not as good as Championship players. We are on the verge of something big, surely get Monk one or two of his preferred choices in now and lets take our chance while it is there.
