When he was at Charlton I think it was, but anyone would get annoyed if they wouldn't serve the breakfast menu a few minutes after last orders
Yeah, Lidl is out of their price range, unless they get their win bonus, so they don't shop there much Afternoon Mate
He was back home in South London (Charlton I think) with mates early hours of Sunday after a night on ghe lash. He stuck the head on some young chav and his mates got stuck in too
Bowyer was great for us, I loved him I remember listening to Talksport just after the trial ended and they were discussing Bowyer saying he should be banned, kicked out of football blah, blah blah, a Leeds fan called in and said they were hypocrites because they had that **** Geoffrey Boycott working for them commenting on a cricket match in India the very same day, the twat had just been done for kicking the **** out of his then girlfriend, needless to say the lad was cut off immediately after calling them out.
Pity about Murphy. Never quite delivered as much as I believe his talents suggest he should have. That said, a lone spell and regular footy might be the incentive he needs for him to show Monk what he can deliver
I loved Bowyer. He was the closest thing we ever had to Giles & Bremner IMO, and consistent with it. The reason he left was that he fell out with the club, and the reason was that he had an urgent £1m legal bill which he wanted the club to pay for him (which he would pay back eventually), and the club wouldn't pay it. He had to sell his house to pay it as I recall & was never the same for us again - although even then he was still better than anything we've got atm. (For those wondering why he had to sell his house, you have to remember that agents got players to pay most of their salaries into pensions. It was a tax loophole, as they were able to get access to the cash the moment they retired from football. It's still lucrative, but they have to wait longer to access the cash these days). It was Dubious Duberry that testified against the two. Split the dressing room? Well, it didn't help. He was one of our really crap buys. I'd have got rid of him long before this happened, and perhaps the dressing room might have been saved. Nah, I'm kidding myself - DOL had already split the dressing room. The book was the clincher. The 'Eddie' situation had already split the dressing room some time before - bigstyle.
I loved Bowyer, the player, at that time too WJ. He was outstanding during the Champions League campaign, for a period of time I'd rank him as one of the best we've ever had. If he'd not been such a little **** outside Elland Road I'm sure he would have become one of the greats. I knew he'd fallen out with the club, but I don't know why he expected the club to pay HIS legal bills. He was on trial for beating the crap out of an Asian lad how can any club be seen to support that ? He'd been in trouble before and this was not something the club could be seen to be involved in, we'd have been crucified.
Imagine demoting Eddie Gray when we were one of the most exciting sides this country has seen for Brian Kidd....we were never the same attacking side after that.
That wasn't the only reason, or even the main reason for 'Eddiegate'. If you go back to Ridsdale's original reason for sacking DOL, he used the phrase 'it's not a footballing reason'. He never repeated that phrase. That's clue 1. Clue 2 - DOL was allegedly told to 'keep away' from Eddie's eldest girl. He allegedly didn't. Eddie then allegedly paid for the girls to travel the world for 6 months. Have to be careful what I say in print.
Calling Leeds fans in Harrogate. Just had a PM from a Southampton fan wanting to know about Harrogate. His name is Number 1 Jasper Here it is:- Hello there . I know you have posted on our board before ( saints ) . How or where would I post the following please on YOUR board ( Leeds ) Me and my wife want to take my elderly parents for a weekend in Harrogate in may . The hotel needs to be in the centre with parking , as it's only for a couple of nights , money is not really an issue . Now here's the problem . My dad is 92 and slowly but surely dying of cancer . So we would like somewhere that has a lounge area or outside place ( with shelter if weather is crap ) so he can puff on his pipe , while Mrs Jasper & me take my Mum out . I went to Harrogate many years ago on a training course and loved the place . Always said I would go back , and now seems an ideal opportunity , as Mrs J has always wanted to visit & so has my Mum . Hope you can help ( or post on my behalf and tell me where to look ) . Regards Jasper . PS we have a " General chat thread " but could not see one on your site .
