But that's where some of the greatest Leeds stories break first. You need to embrace media and sources even if they're not always spot on

Just once would be nice...
I know you feel special cos you are mates with David Haigh on there but its just a fools paradise....

We won't put a 2nd string out in the cup. We will rest a couple, but put out most of the first team. It's the FA Cup & it deserves a bit of respect. More to the point, if we put out a 2nd string, we could be made to look very stupid. I'm not talking about rotating, it's about keeping the squad as fit as possible by giving 14 players as much game time as is practical

With the game Monday night and then a massive game against Derby on the Friday, I'd expect a lot of changes.

Yeah would be a difficult one to quantify. One thing I will say is looking at the bench against Villa, would still be a strong team if all them 7 were in the lineup.

Think Monk will accept that we're unlikely to win the cup and that an extended run would be both draining on a small squad and distracting, so he will prime the players accordingly and put out a second string.

Just my take on it.

All true Davy, but a win and progression may result in a big draw and continued good feeling around the club.

On the side for the cup, I would play Mowatt and Murphy. Both have the ability to be influential and a class act. But neither are starting as a result of those who've come in. The cup would therefore be a good opportunity to rest a couple of players and give one or two of the squad the opportunity to impress and keep their fitness levels up

good afternoon from a sunny but cold Wakefield.i was on stand bye for work in case anyone knocked so did not get a ticket.
now i am stuck at home as its sold out.
i just hope we put them to the sword .

The cup for me, is the very same as an international break. Sooner its over the better and we can concentrate on the one thing that matters. If theres to be a Wembley trip this year, it had better be a play off final. We can get excited about cup distractions when were back in the PL

What a bunch of ****ers if they have reneged on Bartley. He's one we should be signing up as he's been class so far this season. Not our fault their defence is crap.

Morning all by the way.

Be good if Taylor does stay but like you say Matt 15 mill might be worth biting at if it gets reinvested, but knowing our history it will just go into someone's back pocket so we'd be better off keeping the player.

Come on Leeds today let's have a few goals, we usually struggle with games like this so let's put them to the sword. 1st match of 2017 think this could be our season if things continue like they started.

That as someone else said is the gamble with loan to buys. If Bartley turned out to be ****e people would be critical of the club for locking us into a deal to buy him. Can't have it both ways, now we've turned him into a player, Swansea might want to keep him.
Real problem will be if we don't go up, switch divisions with them and he'll want to stay at Leeds. If we're both in the championship they can blow us out of the water in terms of wages with their parachute payments knowing that they have a defender that is very good in this league.

No point in playing Murphy when he clearly is never going to feature in a monk first team, fit or not. He / his agent should be finding him a new club where he can play regularly. Same with big Dave.
