How can anyone give a toss.. Even if we appointed pep we all know deep down the mad eytie Cnut would snort a bad line and sack him on a whim inside six months.... Does anyone other than ristac and I have a memory better than a goldfish?
I don't for a second believe that Monk would join Leeds and agree to work under the conditions Evans, Darko, Rosler and Redfearn worked under... I cannot see Monk allowing Cellino or agreeing to allow him a say in team selection, tactics or formation. I cannot see Monk joining and agreeing to work with what we currently have for a squad, he is going to require a budget and investment and an assurance that certain players will be brought in. If Monk turns us down that answers all the above, if he agree's we have to surely assume he has been given certain assurances. The proof in the pudding will then be our first few signings and the sorting out of contracts for the likes of Taylor and Cook. If Monk signs I will welcome it, however, I did welcome the signing of McD and Warnock and love them or hate them, they were promised funds which never materialised (under previous owners I know). The capture of Monk will be the first small step forward, if he turns us down you have to believe Cellino is not going to attract anyone of the calibre we desire.
Whether Monk is a good appointment or not will be up in the air . Although he led us to our best finish ever in the Premier , he inherited a good team and was propped up by big money in transfers . When he tried to put his own stamp on things the next season ....total failure . Just a few facts and rumours . Absolutely no expierence coming into manager job with us . Monks whispering in our chairman ear played a huge part in Laudrup's sacking . A lot of player disbelief , especially Spanish players , at the sacking of Laudrup ....to the point no more than 2 Spanish players could sit and have lunch together after the sacking and most never played a minute after . Has no transfer connections IMO . Bottom line for me ..... I would pass on Garry Monk but good luck if you don't pass on him ....you may need it .

Exactly, we don't seem to have a queue of top quality coaches begging for a job so Monk would exceed my expectation of who to expect.
Monk does not need to take the ER job, so the only reason why he would must be good news for the club. Agree?
